Job Title:             Receiving Inspector

 

Job Summary:  

                The Receiving Inspector is responsible for the receiving and inspection of purchased items and materials in the Allentown, PA facility.  Materials and components that are delivered to the facility are funneled through the receiving and inspection processes.  The receiving inspector is responsible for unloading material, sorting received material, routing to the appropriate staging area(s), and inspection of components.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Receiving product into system and ensuring proper documentation is provided with shipment (part number, PO number, quantity, etc.)
  • Identification and routing of materials to designated staging areas (small boxes, freight pallets, awaiting inspection, put away)
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Dimensional inspection of components using inspection tools and gauges
  • Ensuring proper documentation is provided with shipments (material traceability reports, certificates of conformity, etc.)
  • Transacting approved material and ensure approved items are identified and staged in appropriate area to be put away

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school graduate or GED required, 4 year degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Manufacturing, preferred
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrate ability to interact with upper level management
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings/blueprints and how to interpret dimensional tolerances
  • Knowledge of standard inspection tools and gauges (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, plug gauges, dial indicators, optical comparator, durometer)

Reporting Structure: The Receiving Inspector reports to the Sr. Quality Engineer
