POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The Director of Sales - Canada is responsible for all sales and sales management of Transchem Group product offerings including all chemical, equipment and service offerings within Canada, including National Accounts.  This role includes expectation of both direct sales of Transchem Group products and sales management of other sales related roles. 


 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

 

The following are the specific responsibilities for this position:  

  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that expands Transchem’s market share and extends national reach 
  • Be accountable for growing pipeline and closing new business across Canada, both as a coach to your team and an individual contributor 
  • Manage, mentor and motivate direct reports to maximize performance of all staff 
  • Manage and direct all staff in the required use of CRM and, where applicable, in the ongoing working relationship with third party sales and marketing support 
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and report on team/individual performance 
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with suppliers to capitalize on their expertise and resources with the goal of driving market expansion. 
  • Define optimal sales force structure and oversee recruitment, training, and development of the sales team. 
  • Foster strong, long-term relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders to retain and grow customer-base 
  • Analyze opportunities and provide business cases to Manager regarding major expenditures and initiatives 
  • Provides input and recommendations on content and distribution of marketing materials and programs 
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity to adjust strategies as necessary 
  • Support Manager and Controller in the preparation of annual budget  
  • Participate in industry trade shows and events across North America to help create awareness to Transchem Group’s products and value-added services 
  • Collaborates with R&D, Operations and Supply Chain on new product development and costs 
  • Document and communicate personnel performance utilizing the Performance Management system.  

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE  

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Management or any related discipline preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, channel partner management, account management
  • Previous experience with full P&L responsibility 
  • Strong business development mindset and proven track record identifying targets, creating prospects and turning them into customers and maintaining long term relationships. This is a hands-on position and you will be expected to generate new opportunities across your area of responsibility. 
  • Experience in the car wash industry or any related industries such as automotive selling equipment or services, chemical & cleaning supplies for the automotive industry, automotive equipment or components will be considered a very strong asset 
  • Able and willing to travel in Ontario on regular basis to visit customers (up to 50%) but also within North America on an ongoing basis (up to 20%). On that basis, a valid driver’s license is necessary.
  • Proven skills in business and financial management 
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills 
  • Ability to manage, develop, coach and mentor a team.  
  • Effective problem - solving and mediation skills 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of software as well as familiarity using CRM programs 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote office environment 

 

 

 

 

This position is to be located near the Cambridge area in Ontario, Canada. Candidates expected to be living within a 2hrs driving distance from Cambridge, Ontario.

Work Arrangement : Remote  

Travel required: 60%.
