Occupational Health Nurse I or Occupational Health Nurse II

SUMMARY:

Cost reduction move from contract service provide under HMO rider to organic company nurses

Addresses business risk from legal compliance on Labor Only contracting.

This role is critical to management medical and clinic support of the business.

This will ensure continuity of services over contracted services providers which is co-terminus with insurance providers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensuring the health and safety of Dover Business Services (DBS) employees by inspecting the offices to maintain health and safety standards.
2. Provide nursing care to ill or injured workers.
3. To organize, formulate, implement, and administer health programs integrating occupational safety.
4. Works closely with the Safety officer/s in promoting employee productivity by developing and implementing health and safety policies.
5. Facilitate the conduct of health maintenance examination and other periodic health checks but not limited to pre-employment medical checks, annual medical, and exit health examinations. If a physician is not available, to perform work activities which are within the scope allowed by the nursing profession, and if more extensive examinations are needed, to refer the same to a physician.
6. Occupational Health Nurse identifies and control common workplace hazards to ensure employees stay healthy and safe.
7. Works with employees to identify potential causes of their ailments and deliver diagnostics and treatments.
8. Participate in the maintenance of occupational health and safety by giving suggestions in the improvement of working environment affecting the health and well-being of the workers.
9. Formulate health and safety reports, analysis, maintain records system, prepare, and submit required medical reports to both regulatory agencies and to DBS.
10. Responsible in Information, Education, and Training of employees on matters of occupational health and safety.
11. Assist the company to comply to health & safety legal obligations by staying up to date with current health and safety regulations by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Qualifications:       

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of Nursing
• Duly licensed to practice nursing in the Philippines.
• A minimum of 2+ years of experience preferably with certifications from OHNAP (e.g., BOSH).
• Hands-on progressive experience in clinic management.
• Excellent computer skills with good knowledge of MS Office applications
• Highly motivated, with ability to further create and develop health and safety programs.
• Proven record of excellent people skills, including good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to handle personal / sensitive information in compliance to the Data Privacy Act.
