Dover Business Services (DBS) is looking for talented Federal/State Income Tax Specialist to join our new shared service center in Cebu, Philippines. Working within an emerging shared services organization, the Income Tax Specialist is responsible for delivering timely and quality service to internal stakeholders and Dover suppliers, as measured by service level agreements and key performance indicators.  As an Federal/State Income Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for operational processing to include data collection and management, analysis and reconciliation and tracking of correspondence.

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Timely and Quality Service Delivery – Federal/State Income Tax Compliance and Reporting
    • Analyzes, reviews, interprets and validates the data supplied by the Business Unit and/or Financial Systems for the relevant tax, financial, internal and external reporting requirements
    • Assist with the preparation of state and local income tax workpapers and returns for the various taxing jurisdictions.
    • Prepare state and local income tax and franchise tax estimate and extension calculations.
    • Assist in maintaining tracking and reconciliation of tax payments.
    • Assist with state tax provision calculations.
    • Assist in preparation of state apportionment calculations.
    • Maintain tax files and ensure proper documentation, referencing and organization.
    • Coordinate the gathering of document requests from various internal teams and operating units, and interact with them in a courteous and professional manner
    • Support the corporate state tax team with miscellaneous projects, as requested.
    • Assist with gathering support for state and local income and franchise tax audits, as requested.
    • Assist with tax modeling for state planning initiatives, as requested.
    • Perform tax research for reporting and compliance requirements and be involved in continuous efforts to keep up to date with tax developments
    • Produce reports/requests/deliverables on time and in good quality
    • Maintain productivity and attention to detail while meeting service level agreements in a complex environment
  • Involvement in Project Implementation / Process Transitions
  • Lead or assist the team on project implementations and/or process transitions

 

  • Contribute to standardization and/or process improvement initiatives
  • Assist with tax process improvements projects, which may include software implementation, automation, or workpaper improvement and ongoing continuous process improvement
  • Maintain documentation of system/processes, reports and system functionality.
  • Develop, implement and maintain process standards and controls, and requirements for data maintenance and/or cleanup.
  • Coach and train team members i.e., process changes, newly absorbed tasks. and/or conduct system orientation.

 

  • Stakeholder Coordination and Management
  • Interact with stakeholders, controllers, users, and internal teams in a courteous and responsible manner, to resolve issues, concerns and provide updates

 

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting Technology, Financial Information Systems or related fields; Certified Public Accountant and Certified Tax Technician is preferred
  • At least 3 years in corporate tax, accounting, financial analysis experience and/or finance shared services
  • Working knowledge and experience in US State and Local Income Tax Compliance is an edge
  • Proficient use of MS Office required (i.e. MS Excel - basic to complex formulas, pivoting, graphs and charts), and knowledge of Sharepoint, MS Power Platform, VBA is an advantage.
  • Experience in ERPs (e.g., Oracle/SAP), Financial Systems and/or Tax Tools (e.g., Longview Tax, OneStream Tax Provision, Corptax) is an advantage
