Job Title:        Quality Engineer

What we are looking for:

 

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who will coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain to resolve production and customer quality issues through systematic problem-solving methodologies that ensure sustainable quality improvement. The Quality Engineer will accomplish their objectives both as an individual contributor and as a team leader and will be expected to help build & foster a business environment that embraces quality assurance (QA) and continuous improvement as a key to the company’s ongoing growth and success.

 

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Identifying opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use formal, data-driven problem-solving methodologies (e.g., PDCA, A3, 6-sigma, etc.) to drive their efforts forward and deliver sustainable results.
  • Understanding and defining production capabilities and applying capability data to engineering & production quality standards and specifications.
  • Designing and coordinating testing as required to ensure that product performance and durability expectations are met.
  • Facilitating compliance with NSF, UL, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Developing measurements and effectively communicating data to various organizational levels.
  • Participating in lean initiatives, such as 5s, value stream teams, and blitz events as required.
  • Working with manufacturing, continuous improvement, and other teams when cross-functional problem-solving initiatives are required.
  • Working with Industrial Engineering and Accounting to determine the financial impact of QA activities.
  • Developing training material, operating procedures, work instructions and training individuals/teams as needed in updated processes and procedures.
  • Organizing meetings, events, and associated logistics related to QA activity.
  • Lead a team that includes inspectors and/or technicians in a supervisory role which will include managing time, performance, labor distribution, and growth

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable Engineering field OR bachelor’s degree in any discipline with subsequent relevant work experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a Quality Engineering capacity with a quantifiable track record of results
  • 3 years of professional or military experience in an applicable business environment.

  • Motivate others to participate, support, and share your enthusiasm and vision.
  • Effectively communicate verbally, visually, and in writing to sell your ideas to various levels within the organization.

  • Work at ease in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • In-depth knowledge of problem solving & quality assurance tools (PFMEA, CP, ANOVA, DOE…) with practical application experience.
  • Desire to take a hands-on approach to identify opportunities to improve processes and products, measure processes/products, collect and analyze data, form and lead a team, and test and implement improvement solutions
