Job Title:        Demand Planner

What we are looking for:

 

We are looking for a Demand Planner responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products; utilizes forecast models for customers and products; and incorporates business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other sources.

 

The Demand Planner is the integration point of Advanced Analytics, Sales and Marketing. This position leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in Sales and Marketing. This position will be responsible for the preparation and leadership of the Demand Review Meeting as part of a formalized Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Initially, this position will participate in the formation and implementation of a formalized S&OP and demand planning process and will be responsible for the implementation of the demand planning process, tools, and templates.

 

What you will be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Collaborate with advanced analytics on the development of demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop and analyze statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with Sales, Product Management and finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Product Management and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts. Facilitate a collaborative planning process with Sales, Product Management and Finance personnel. Lead the monthly Demand Review and participate in the S&OP monthly process.
  • Create and analyze monthly S&OP metrics and conducts root cause analyses to come up with actions for improvement
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate Sales/Customer action plans with supply planning
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 15 to 18 months forecast and drive the entire forecasting process for assigned categories for the different business divisions /segments
  • Support and participate in the financial budgeting process
  • Advise Sales and Marketing of variances between existing forecasts, plans, and actuals

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in finished goods forecasting / demand planning experience or 3 to 5 years of business experience in data analysis, Supply Chain, analytical skills, and Programming & Modeling

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • Demand planning professional certification (CPF or ACPF) or Master of Business Administration in Information technology is strongly preferred
  • Effective use of forecasting applications (i.e. SAP APO, JDA, Manugistics, Demantra, i2, Logility, John Galt /ATLAS  etc.) , or other statistical and modeling systems.
  • Experience in creating reports using Advance Excel, PowerPivot, Power BI and Oracle BI and SQL

 

To be a great fit for the role:

 

  • Knowledge of Software related to demand planning is required, preferable the ones which integrate statistical and Predictive analytics (Artificial  intelligence)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a high level of expertise in MS Excel is required.
  • The qualified candidate will have strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and solid presentation skills.
  • The ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external partners is required. Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process. Good facilitation skills are required
  • This candidate will be able to manage multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and professionalism.
