Job Title:        Director, Lean Materials Flow & Supplier Integration

Location:        Conyers, Georgia.        

 

     

What we’re looking for:

 

We are looking for an ambitious and driven Director, Lean Materials Flow & Supplier Integration. You will report to the Senior Director for Supply Chain and SIOP with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your lean materials and lean leadership skills and play an instrumental role in the success of the company.

 

As the Director of Lean Materials Flow & Supplier Integration, you will have the ownership of implementing lean across the DFR Systems Supply Chain with a focus on leading the site SIOP process, annual macro plan, leading lean maturity, kaizen events, tiered accountability audits, visual controls, and leader standard work for DFR Systems. You will support the Senior Director of Supply Chain Strategy to set the vision and goals for the annual macro plan of continuous improvement events from customers, within our factories and with our suppliers. You will lead lean processes using lean and influence the people and processes to achieve those goals and objectives. You will lead value stream mapping and efficiency across the systems business.

 

You will partner with the DFR business units to deploy lean materials and advanced planning tools across the network.  You will also be responsible for leading business transformation, including change management, as needed to sustain the lean maturity processes and expected results.  You will oversee the continuous improvement of lean front end of the business processes with our customers as well as supplier integration strategies of LT reductions, MOQ reductions, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI). Your leadership will impact inventory planning and reporting in the DFR Systems SIOP Process. Also critical to this role is the development of standard metrics and reports using Visual and Atlas that has a standard work at the site. You will lead the site SIOP Process balancing supply can demand over an 18-month horizon and drive results on our SIOP Maturity Model. including collaborative training with customers and suppliers.

 

You will own the Systems master scheduling and production planning process. You will also own the warehouse, receiving and shipping operations with a focus on safety, lean material flow, visual controls, continuous improvement, inventory optimization and driving results.

 

You will create and drive a positive working environment and culture of continuous improvement throughout your organization to achieve the best possible outcome from your resources. You will lead the development of your team to increase their skills and capability in readiness for internal progression and succession.

 

The successful candidate must be capable of translating objectives into a deliverable strategy to achieve business goals and create a competitive advantage of the product portfolio. Focusing on building a world-class team, utilizing, and deploying Lean and Six Sigma techniques, driving continuous improvement activities and achievement of superior performance across all KPIs (Key Performance Initiatives). This role will have a focus on customer collaboration and supplier integration with an integrated supply chain strategy to optimize inventory and on-time delivery. 

 

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Defining the Vision & Driving Strategy for Inventory Planning, Optimization and Execution
  • Driving Transformation initiatives and deployment of the DFR ISC standard work.
  • Provide leadership and structure to the Systems business by developing and executing standard work.
  • Standard work for Lean Materials Flow, Supplier Integration, and maturation of DFR Lean Materials.
  • Set Expectations for the development and ongoing refinement of the daily/weekly/monthly Lean standard work, including a monthly review of all Systems business and process related metrics/KPI’s
  • Lead and establish a culture of continuous improvement and process excellence.
  • Build a culture of highly skilled and talented planning professionals in preparation for progression within DFR
  • Setting policies around Service Level Strategies with the business
  • Partner with Planning teams to actively manage relationships with customers, suppliers and other regional distribution centers and planning teams.
  • Input to monthly Supply and Inventory Plans commit that aligns to SIOP, short range outlooks for revenue and Inventory commitments.
  • Conduct Lean Audits, continually identify process improvement opportunities to advance site Lean materials maturity.
  • Partner with site supply chain and operations to optimize material flow through lean and visual controls, visual management, transactional process improvement, etc
  • Utilize and deploy best practices for standardized processes and global visibility.
  • Collaborate to drive inventory to turns goals, utilize DFR best practices within the Systems business.
  • Support data analytics, 8Ds, and supply chain bowlers and roll up to global COE.
  • Manage supplier performance metrics and scorecards at site level and roll up to DFR scorecards.
  • Conduct kaizen and continuous improvement events in collaboration with key suppliers.
  • Ability to effectively interact with and influence all levels of internal customers.
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong bias for action and demonstrated effectiveness as a change agent for process improvement.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and meet project objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are a requirement.

 

 What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in Lean/Six Sigma with additional experience in Supply, Production Planning, Materials Management, or other Sales Inventory & Operations Planning, with people leadership experience
  • 5 years of experience leading a global lean implementation driving results with customer on-time delivery, supplier on-time delivery and inventory

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • Master’s Degree 
  • APICS, CPIM, CPSM, or CPF certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Direct experience with SAP ERP systems, specifically planning screens, t-codes, etc.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle. Demantra is a plus. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to efficiently multi-task, prioritize, and delegate.
  • Ability to collaborate with both internal and external customers.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean certification with using lean tools to drive business results.
  • Building organizations capabilities and succession planning 
  • Bias for action and demonstrated results.
  • Experience leading cross functional materials boot camps including collaborative training with customers and suppliers.
  • Experience linking physical and information flow to digital systems.
