Job Title:        Manager, Warehouse & Logistics

Location:        Conyers, GA             

 

What we’re looking for:

 

We are looking for a Manager, Warehouse & Logistics who will be responsible for overseeing and improving, logistics and materials management functions for the Conyers, GA manufacturing site.  Inbound / Outbound freight, Stockroom & Material Delivery, Purchasing of Raw Materials and Components, Inventory Accuracy, Staffing for Salary and Indirect Materials Team Members and People Development. He / She will be responsible for implementing tools and processes that improve operating efficiencies and reduce cost within the end-to-end supply chain.


What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Oversee all Warehouse, Materials Handling and Transportation activities.
  • Track supplier on-time delivery while optimizing cost and inventory.
  • Work with Quality to manage rejections and returns with vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with any SOX requirements pertaining to area of responsibility.
  • Support the Engineering Change process with appropriate phase-in and phase-out plans for all purchased components.
  • Ensure adequate stockroom and line-side inventory levels to support on-time schedule attainment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate material movement transactions (receipt, put-away, pick, issue, adjust)
  • Lead material / inventory control & planning activities including the coordination of cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Work closely with carriers to ensure products are shipped per customer delivery schedules.
  • Work with HR, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure adequate safety procedures and equipment are in place for all team members.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction projects in accordance with Plant Management goals.
  • Participate in SIOP meetings and provide all necessary supporting data / metrics.
  • Lead root-cause, corrective-action exercise for transportation or material delivery related issues.
  • Establish KPI’s to measure and control department performance and create action plans to improve / correct deviations.
  • Manage Raw and FG Materials Warehouse projects on time and within budget.
  • Enforce and implement company policy, safety rules and regulations.
  • Provide effective team leadership to develop and maintain a robust team. Mentor and assist others in expanding their skill sets and knowledge base.
  • Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or equivalent
  • 5-7 years in Supply Chain roles (Purchasing, Materials Warehousing, Logistics, Transportation, SIOP and/or Production Control), preferably in a Manufacturing environment
  • 2-5 years’ experience in Logistics and Warehouse Management.

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • 2-5 years’ experience supervising others.
  • APICS certification
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience
  • Experience managing a team including hiring and retention, performance reviews, and discipline. 
  • Experience with Oracle & AS400 ERP systems
  • Experience working with Power BI
  • Experience in an S&OP environment
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities and quickly adapt in a fast-paced high-energy environment.
