Location:                     Dundee or within commutable location (needs to be 2/3 days/week on-site)

Position Summary:

The Sourcing Compliance and Reporting manager is responsible for process ownership across the Dundee sourcing team, ensuring that processes are created, developed, optimised, contracts in place, metrics, data and monthly reports (scorecards and a like) are created maintained and delivered and our legal obligations are measured, recorded and tracked (conflict minerals, ethical trading, etc).  Encompassing a wide spectrum of strategic sourcing areas the position is very much hands on from providing day to day tactical support within the team and cross functionally. The role is best described as the ‘air traffic control’ of sourcing. From contracts to scorecards to CI pipelines to legal compliance to accountable ‘drive’, the role is a key and critical part of the team.

 

The role will cover accountability and responsibility for the strategic sourcing compliance and reporting strategy (short, medium and long term) leading and creating winning internal relationships and processes that enable simple, robust and efficient solutions engaging with all stakeholders, internally and externally.

 

This role is focused on the Dundee operation with the immediate priority of total cost improvement for the Dundee (DFS) business.

 

The role requires coordination and proactive engagement with a diverse suite of individuals and departments with clear demonstrable skill to manage these stakeholders and have a ‘style’ that demonstrates ‘ownership, presence and accountability’ throughout the Dover organisation and brings a greater ‘presence’ over a ‘simple reporting’ mindset.

 

Performance metrics, supply chain / sourcing reporting process best practice and toolsets will be created, used and required to validate and drive best in class performance.

Tasks or issues on an ad hoc basis may be required upon request.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify Dover Zero harm rules in support of a safe working environment.
  • Develop and maintain reporting strategy that meets the teams needs and wants immediately.
  • Is capable of building measurement processes to drive accountable reporting on our cost improvement journey.
  • Comfort and experience in tackling tough areas of process improvement and highlighting areas of weakness in a structured and factual manner.
  • Is comfortable working with finance, operations and engineering ensuring that facts are checked, and processes are fair and balanced.
  • Understands how sourcing works and operates on a cost improvement journey and what value the role needs to deliver.
  • A self-starter mentality – proactive and inquisitive
  • Drive technological improvements to simplify and improve efficiency within the team. For example, Oracle reporting, Power BI automation for real time metric reporting, contract databases, supplier risk registers etc.
  • Identify areas of business improvement through simplification on either supplier consolidation, contractual management and product simplification
  • Identify and implement new tools and technologies to improve reporting and analytics capabilities
  • Build and maintain supplier contract portals, risk registers and legislation compliance databases
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and visualizations
  • Coach and support business case creation supporting change
  • Is able to create and nurture winning relationships

 

Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrates full accountability and ownership for all aspects of assigned areas of responsibility.
  • A proven track record of leading strategic process development
  • Proven ability to develop contractual databases
  • Evidence of experience of creating and maintaining supplier / cost improvement trackers and scorecards.
  • Able to coach and mentor team members.
  • Persistence in problem solving approach with ability to deliver solutions that address the issue effectively.
  • Confident and familiar with appropriate technology to automate and create efficiency
  • Leading and influencing decision making in stakeholder departments – effective communication.
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment would be useful
  • Able to be flexible in both approach and outlook. Has the ability to deliver tactically and strategically as needed. A ‘hands on’ culture, style and attitude is a must.
  • Comfortable in presenting information in a variety of formats to senior management,
  • Willingness to engage with stakeholders (engineering, marketing, sales) to understand Dovers products and customer requirements and ensure they are reflected in our supply chain.
  • Self-motivated and orientated towards improvement/development of responsibilities - flexible in accepting accountabilities.

  

Candidate Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified or able to demonstrate suitable relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five years working in a similar role, showing consistent career progression to current level preferably within an engineering or high-volume manufacturing environment,
  • Must have a proven track record of process and using analytics
  • Familiarity with Oracle ERP Power BI systems an advantage.
  • Proficient in use of MS packages.
  • Expert in the development, deployment and administration of service contracts and t&c’s
  • Excellent English (verbal and written)
