Mechanical Engineer

The Role 

 

We are looking for a passionate, open minded and confident engineer who wants to use their experience and skills, be a member of a new innovative team, within a global company, developing next generation of products.​ 

You’ll be part of an entrepreneurial and agile team designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining mechanical systems and solutions for Markem-Imaje future printing systems with primary focus on our Print &Apply product range. ​

You’ll have an opportunity to work with talented engineers in a global environment, building complex products, from proof of concept to production, targeted to meet our customers’ needs and the strategic objectives of Markem-Imaje.​

 

 

What you will do: 

 

  • Develop innovative mechanical designs and solutions from conceptual level and up, in line with project/internal requirements.
  • Produce 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using PTC Creo.
  • Creation of part numbers and engineering BoMs using Windchill.
  • Design, develop and test prototypes using rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing.
  • Plan and execute mechanical engineering related lab experiments in support of design validation and coordinate experiments in collaboration with the mechanical engineering technicians.
  • Presenting at technical gate meetings and design reviews.
  • Perform engineering analysis such as thermals/stress computer simulations to support design validation.
  • Work as part of cross-disciplinary and cross-border (UK, US, France) project teams.
  • Bring a strong technical expertise during design reviews and problem-solving activities.
  • Follow and drive improvement of mechanical engineering best practices and tools to improve team efficiency, effectiveness, and mechanical subsystem quality.
  • Use outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to execute efficient interfaces with third party engineering partners and suppliers.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites and suppliers in the future.

 

  

What you need to have: 

 

  • Minimum Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar/relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering research and development roles within an industrial environment.
  • Experience designing industrial products from concept through production is required.
  • Experience using CAD/PLM software, ideally in PTC Creo/Windchill.
  • Experience in creating engineering drawings and knowledge of GD&T.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills in English and Swedish.
  • Experience in computational thermals and stress analysis is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of marking and coding equipment is a plus, but not required.
