SUMMARY: Develop, plan, and implement process controls and procedures that will a) maintain supplier goods to an acceptable level, b) analyze and determine disposition of return goods, and c) initiate and follow up on Corrective / Preventive Actions as a result of return goods analysis. Assist in the maintenance of third party certification (i.e.: ISO 9000, ETL, CE mark, etc.) and develop feed back systems for the continual improvement of the quality of the Company's products and services. Sample incoming material from suppliers, audit work-in-process operations, and monitor and chart finished products.

           

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

 

  1. Must be able to lift 70 pounds repeatedly – a minimum of 2 times per day.
  2. Implement inspection techniques on supplier goods and returned goods.
  3. Maintain the documentation to verify the suppliers ability to deliver acceptable goods and / or services.
  4. Initiate the corrective / preventive action process as a result of the findings of supplier  goods and returned goods.
  5. Assist in calibrating measuring and test equipment per work instructions as needed.
  6. Visit existing and perspective suppliers to develop resolve supplier quality issues.
  7. Understand and implement the ISO9001 system and learn how to internally audit Rotary’s quality system as well as audit supplier’s quality system.
  8. Create and maintain work instructions related to product quality.
  9. Analyze product field problems “hands on” .
  10. Monitor parts in process at random operations.
  11. Assist in final inspection of parts before they are sent to the Shipping Department.
  12. Must be able to read and interpret complicated blueprints and shop drawings.
  13. Must have high school education or equivalent ability as indicated by previous related work experience.
  14. Achieve consistent quality by maintaining statistical process control (SPC) charts and graphs and by making necessary adjustments.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

 

  • Receives job prints, work order, and/or instructions from Quality Engineer and proceeds with a minimum of supervision and direction.
  • Makes dimensional or mechanical inspection and check of a diversified line of standard products and components for conformity to size, performance, finish, appearance, etc.
  • Performs surface plate inspection of part layout floor inspection and check of sub and final assemblies where procedures are established and allowable variations are prescribed.  Inspects purchased pats and materials.
  • Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments tests sets and gauging equipment.  Sets up ordinary gauging and measuring devices.
  • Performs other work of similar or comparable nature incidental to the performance of the operation.  Assists new operators learning the techniques and procedures necessary for SPC implementation.
  • Takes good workmanlike care of tools, machines, equipment, work areas, etc.
