Position Summary:

Supervises, directs and coordinates overall value stream(s) operations. Assures that on-time delivery and quality is maintained at levels to meet the top tier of the customer’s supplier ratings.  Engage and empower team members to create a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and personal development. 

Warn Automotive is a fully committed team-based organization.  The Production Supervisor must be a coach who empowers and trains their people, all while leading by example.  Accountability for production performance resides with the Production Supervisor and they must accomplish the objectives through leadership, clear communication of objectives and goals, and positive employee engagement in our continuous improvement culture.

 

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Responsible for ensuring production team meets production objectives, escalating events that may impact that goal and developing actions to recover when daily output falls short.
  • Continuously works to reduce product net costs and enhance operation’s efficiency.
  • Consistently exceeds customer expectations for product delivery and quality.
  • Provides training and leadership and represents a positive, enthusiastic role model to create a positive place to work.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to leadership, management and Human Resources in matters of personnel.
  • Represents Warn Automotive in the community and promotes the organization’s goodwill and interests in community activities.
  • Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.
  • Leads the production team to attain all operational goals in quality, cost of production, and delivery performance.
  • Supports the implementation of tactical plans to achieve Warn Automotive’s Strategic Vision.  Extends Warn Automotive’s Strategic Vision to team leads and team members.
  • Coaches team members and assists in creating development and training plans.  Provides performance feedback and develops succession plan for area(s) of responsibility.  Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Provides training and leadership and represents a positive, enthusiastic role model so as to create a positive place to work.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or in an applicable technical field would be an advantage.
  • Three or more years of proven supervisory and/or managerial role in a manufacturing environment.
  • College coursework preferred such as Lean Manufacturing, APICS, and Quality Systems.

 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated successful performance in machining and assembly manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to present results, priorities and actions and to engage the work team to achieve those priorities. 
  • Demonstrated successful leadership in driving performance through lean and continuous improvement methodology.  Visual management systems, metrics, and employee engagement.
  • Proficient with commonly used business software products such as spreadsheets, work processing and database management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills commensurate with the job tasks and position necessary to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers while providing exceptional quality of work and outstanding customer service. Ability to present information in a manner designed to educate or inform other team members and customers in one-on-one or group interactions as directed.
  • Ability to review, comprehend, interpret, process and evaluate effectively written work instructions and procedures written in English, prints, specs and diagrams, and tool gauges, measuring devices and inspection tools in conjunction with the performance of the essential functions and other assigned job duties.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills including ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a calm, rational and respectful demeanor and communication style in times of stress occasioned by work demands, tight timelines, heavy production expectations, unexpected quality control issues, and other work-related issues or concerns that may cause a heightened level of anxiety, frustration, anger, disappointment, confusion, etc.
  • Strong technical, trouble-shooting, problem solving, research, organizational and analytical skills, combined with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines.  Ability to multitask is also essential while remaining flexible with changing priorities and deadlines. 
  • Well-reasoned decision making with a high attention to detail regarding organization, planning, work flow, and project prioritization to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Highly ethical, self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and/or with limited direction, as well as cooperatively in a team environment, while consistently demonstrating collaborative, respectful and productive work habits.

Salary Range : $77,945.12   - $116,917.68
