SCOPE:

The Value Stream Manager – Brass/Ductile position for RegO's Propane Energy Solutions group is responsible for leading the implementation of world class, lean manufacturing principles and disciplines, and achieve customer service excellence.  Key measures of performance include safety, quality, on-time delivery, lead time,  cost productivity, cash flow, key CAPEX investments, and inventory.  All of this will be surrounded with an additional focus on organizational alignment and talent development.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership example in areas of safety and environmental compliance and holds the organization accountable to be a zero harm workplace.
  • Drives overall operational excellence through the application of  best in class lean practices and processes.
  • Addresses key business performance challenges.  Identifies and overcomes these challenges based on root cause identification in operational key result areas.
  • Identifies and addresses manufacturing issues and drives excellence with SQDIP prioritization.
  • Drives lean strategy leading to Value Stream transformation. 
  • Focuses on talent and organizational development, an effective succession planning system, and a culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Institutes a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Provides weekly, monthly and yearly revenue forecasts based on commercial forecasts.
  • Provides daily leadership to cross functional departments (Planners, Buyers, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering) to utilize best practice tools (e.g. – SIOP, E&O, Inventory Management process).  
  • Builds a strong operations talent base.  Partners with Human Resources to develop talent management strategies. 
  • Leads daily operations ensuring customer expectations are consistently satisfied, products and services always meet the quality specifications, and all resources are fully utilized to provide a cost-effective product and service.    
  • Establishes performance goals and objectives for value stream operations.  Provides feedback and corrective actions to maintain progress toward achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Champions change and drives out waste throughout the value stream operations by deploying Lean methodology.
  • Manages labor utilization and operations within budget.
  • Prepares technical and progress reports and manages capital budget for the value stream.
  • Develops, interprets, applies, and enforces company safety regulations and operating policies and procedures. 
  • Promotes good public relations for the Company within the community.

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Five years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with excellent track record of business results.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.  Experience with change management and driving continuous improvement activities.
  • Experience in team development – problem solving, conflict resolution, building cooperative relationships, and effective communications.
  • Two years’ experience in leading continuous improvement efforts using Lean Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Has a high level of leadership competence in employee management, assembly operations, continuous improvement techniques, quality systems, replenishment systems, Lean Manufacturing strategies, and manufacturing technologies.
