Job Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and effectively provide maintenance support in order to meet the needs of customers, both internal and external while maintaining a safe and clean work environment for employees. Provide technical expertise to support daily operations and to achieve significant improvement in production related objectives.
- Actively work on and engage with all department projects, tasks and objectives.
- Demonstrated experience with automation equipment. Manages configuration and versions of programmable devices, hardware and systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), vision camera systems, barcode scanners, intelligent sensors and devices, PC based machine control systems and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) level systems.
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance repairs and works on a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, electronic and electromechanical production equipment and building systems. Must be familiar with typical mechanics hand tools, precision measuring instruments and electrical test equipment such as multi meters.
- Assists with set up and set up operator activities, installation and setup of new equipment.
- Troubleshoot (diagnose and resolve) breakdowns of hydraulic, pneumatic and high voltage electrical systems without assistance.
- Ability to work from layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, drawing or verbal instructions.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses CNC equipment. Performs maintenance, repair and calibration on equipment such as control systems of numerically controlled machines (CNC), other controlling or spot welding, etc..... Conducts operational test and repairs equipment by disassembling required components, repairing and/or replacing faulty parts, reassembling and adjusting equipment. Determines proper setting for timing and control mechanisms.
- Ensures strict adherence to safety procedures and critical facility work rules. Must be familiar with proper chemical handling procedures, local codes, cooling systems and chillers. Proper handling of chemicals and SDS documents. Must have knowledge of safe work practices and LOTO procedures.
- Ensures work environment is clean, orderly and free of safety hazards.
- Complete all required safety program objectives and training.
- Take an active part in cost reduction and continuous improvement programs.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards as well as absolute personal and intellectual integrity, mature judgement and have the ability to communicate to all levels within the organization.
- Required Skills:
- Must be able to work 8 – 10 hour shifts and overtime as required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have a minimum of 5+ solid years of general maintenance experience.
- Must have demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing CNC equipment. Electrical and hydraulic maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in oral and written form with operators, Team Leads and Engineers on workmanship, manufacturability and process design issues is key. Interface and pass down information between cross functional team members of incoming and outgoing shifts as needed.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English comprehension and expression both verbal and written.
- Must possess basic math skills (i.e. Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, and Decimals) as well as basic reading, writing and computational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high degree of quality and reliability so that equipment is capable of operating within the required specifications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to use a PC and email.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a frequent and repetitive basis.
- Must be able to stand, bend, push, pull, and climb.
- Must be able to work in weather extremes.
- Must be able to wear all required PPE.
