Summary

The CI Coordinator is accountable for executing lean continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.  The strategy this position deploys works to impact Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery. This position will provide training, expertise and direction for improvement activities to support the business goals and objectives at plant level. This position will also work closely with a cross-functional leadership team, to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective operational/business solutions for all aspects of the plant.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:
 

  • Ensure plant operates under Operational Excellence guidelines as defined by the Dover platform
  • Employ lean manufacturing techniques and champion the continuous improvement culture
  • Facilitate implementation of CI best practices across the plant functional areas.
  • Execute improvement projects identified by plant leadership.
  • Assist in identifying facility gaps and forming strategic plans to address. 
  • Train and lead employees on the Fundamentals of Lean including, but not limited to 7 Wastes, 5-S, PDCA, SMED, Visual management, Visual factory, etc.
  • Train employees on problem solving skills and promote the use of problem-solving tools within the plant functional areas and become a subject matter expert.
  • Participate in GEMBA walks and drive CI culture across plant functional areas.
  • Establish standardized work and audit schedule for sustainability.
  • Analyze and develop reports relating to OPEX status and future plans showing goals and vision
  • Analyze data and/or reports to find opportunities within KPI reporting structure.
  • Facilitate small group meetings to brainstorm, gather information or solidify action plans which support ongoing CI activities
  • Embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds and practice consensus leadership when possible
  • Communicate Lean CI vision to plant/functional leaders and implement lean CI strategy at the plant/functional level.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be highly self-motivated and passionate.
  • Working experiences with functional leaders to establish and execute CI roadmap to deliver baseline results.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio, Power Point, and Lean view/Visio (Value stream mapping).
  • The ability to coordinate and lead successful cross-functional improvements.

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business-related discipline; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Operations/production experience with demonstrated process improvement experiences a plus.
  • Experience of leading Kaizen and deploying lean tools and principles a plus.


 

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to write presentations and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.
 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 

Reasoning Ability

The qualified candidate must be able to troubleshoot and resolve various material issues within the company.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
