Summary

The Facilities Maintenance position performs general maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical system machines, heating systems, plumbing, etc.
 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Receives work assignment from Maintenance Lead. 
  • Performs work assigned to rig, move, install machines and equipment.
  • Secure, level and align machines properly.
  • Assist in machine repair or overhauls.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required per schedule.
  • Do simple structural work, concrete work, rough carpentry, plumbing, and etc., incidental to assignments.
  • Work from plans or layouts.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner.
  • Repair and maintain building, machinery and any other equipment as required.
  • Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all air lines, air compressors, heat, mechanical and electrical equipment in factory or offices including phones and computer wiring. 
  • Perform weekly and monthly fire inspections,\inspection forms
  • Instruct others and assist in maintenance function of the physical plant; masonry work, carpenter work, painting electrical, mechanical, and etc. 
  • Judgement required to plan work.
     

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
 

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of the use of machine tools, hand tools, rigging equipment, dollies, skids, torch, chain fall, jacks, rope, paint, shovel, saws, welders, measuring tools and equipment etc.
  • Familiarity with 480-volt electrical systems.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machines.
  • Basic fabrication skills and knowledge of hydraulic systems.
     

Education and/or Experience

  • Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance; or five to seven years of maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •  National Electrical Code Certification and HVAC Certification a plus.
     

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts of basic math, algebra, and geometry.
 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
