SUMMARY:  

The Safety/EHS Coordinator will provide full-time environmental, health and safety (EHS) support to the operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with OSHA regulatory requirements and Dover Bearings and Compression (B&C) Company policies. The focus of this role is to work with the Antigo sites value streams to monitor and measure the effectiveness of the current safety/risk programs and procedures. Improve and create new processes/procedures where needed and implement across all value streams to create a cohesive safety organization. Ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement, and help to build a culture of proactive safety across all of the value streams in Antigo.Support the development and coordination of training programs in line with our Zero Harm at Home and at Work mission; recognize People, Prevention, Protection, and Process (4Ps) are the cornerstone of B&C's commitment to our employees and stakeholders.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in compliance with all applicable local, state, regional and national laws.
  • Develop controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from the result of hazard assessment.  Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard and risk control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace incidents and injuries.
  • Collect, monitor and share data associated with: Incidents, Behavior Based Safety, Training, Inspections, Waste Water and Emissions.
  • Develop, implement and oversee training systems and programs to support plant and EHS objectives.
  • Monitor and develop culture of safety within DPO and B&C.
  • Coordinate with Global EHS Director on development and implementation of hazardous material procedure and policies.
  • Schedule, assign and track Industrial Hygiene Monitoring and subsequent action items.
  • Manage Medical Monitoring requirements and associated contracts.
  • Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and to provide support.
  • Monitor, track and report on Corrective Actions and the effectiveness of solutions associated with: Incident Investigations, Near Miss reports, High Potential Incidents, Audit Findings, Return of Experience, Transportation Incidents and any other event that results in the establishment of corrective action opportunity
  • Work with HR to Manage Workers Compensation Claims including filing procedure, claims management and record keeping.
  • Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation assuring compliance of applicable laws and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Prepare reports and conduct presentations covering compliance data at all levels of the organization.
  • Member of Compliance audit team.
  • Assist in new employee orientation training.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management, or Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental, safety and health compliance.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites 10% of the time.
  • Experience in developing training programs.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable, effective and experienced speaking in front of large groups.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and workload, which includes planning, organizing, prioritizing and follow-through on assignments, projects and reports while meeting all deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Efficient project management skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in work.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
