Your Role
Are you ready to make an impact? As a Senior Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization’s success. Summary: The Development Engineer will be an integral member of the technology development team in support of the Thermal Management Business Unit. Primary responsibilities include conceptualization, detailed engineering design, analysis and specification of technologies in support of new product development. The Development Engineer should embody a logical, creative, and curious approach to product design, paired with a passion for innovation and problem solving.
Responsibilities:
- Lead research and development projects to evaluate and advance new technologies aligned with the Thermal Business Unit technology roadmap – spanning a variety of areas including material science, mechanics, development testing, technology scouting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, product and marketing professionals to refine requirements, assess and mitigate risks, and successfully transfer new technology into product development
- Interacts with customers and suppliers as needed to assess new technology needs
- Leads or assists in continuous improvement efforts relating technology standards, guides, and tools
- Leads or assists in efforts to resolve product performance issues
- Adheres to all safety regulations
- Demonstrates support of CPC core values
- Performs other job duties as required to meet business needs.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, or another related field.
- 7+ years of mechanical design and product development experience
- Curious, creative, and tenacious problem solver
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required; must be able to communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and customers
- Ability to work independently, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- CAD proficiency – PTC Creo, Solidworks, etc
- Knowledge and grasp of rapid prototyping techniques and manufacturing methods
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated history of design innovation
- Knowledge and understanding of new product development processes – ie stage gate, agile
- Energetic and enthusiastic approach toward the definition of new technology, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook
- Experience in design and manufacture of mass produced products such as automotive, appliances, toys, etc.
- Competent in the design and development of plastic components.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in science, engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with fluid handling industry and challenges
- Familiarity with thermal management techniques – liquid cooling of electronics
- Intermediate understanding of Finite Element Analysis and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Design experience with fluid handling components for industrial applications.
Travel:
- International and domestic, up to 5%
