Position Summary

The North America Marketing Communications Leader for DESTACO is responsible for managing internal and external marketing communications to support the achievement of the DESTACO strategic plan.  He/she is responsible for developing, distributing and coordinating internal and external marketing communications, and for developing and implementing a yearly marketing communications program.  He/she will design strategic marketing activities and tools to promote branding and sale of DESTACO’s products to industrial markets, completing all work in coordination with the Product Managers.  He/she will manage activities such as tradeshows, marketing campaigns, advertising, and email.


The North America Marketing Communications Leader reports to the Director of Global Marketing Communications, who is a member of DESTACO’s senior management team. The position is located in Auburn Hills, MI and requires minimal travel (up to 15% U.S. and international).  The position requires communication globally with product development, sales, customer service, applications engineering, vendors, channel partners, and working in teams worldwide.


Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Plans and coordinates marketing communications activities:  marketing campaigns, email marketing, advertising, media relations, promotions and tradeshow, including the purchase of advertising space and placement of editorial content in trade journals.
  • Develop Email Marketing Campaigns using Adobe Marketo
  • Manage Social Media Communications on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and possibly others
  • Coordinates all communications and activities with domestic and international business units to promote consistency of messages, brands and company positioning.
  • Contributes marketing communications development, resource allocation, and implementation to product launch teams.
  • Contributes Marketing Communications support to special projects, such as specific target market activities and programs.
  • Serves as outreach coordinator for activities with professional organizations, universities, etc.
  • Manages our agencies in writing and design of article, story and website content and manages in-house development projects:  newsletters, technical bulletins, media releases, advertising copy, feature stories, application stories, internet site content and promotional materials.
  • Work with Sales and Sales partners to ensure they have the necessary information to promote and sell DESTACO products.

Job Requirements:


  • Three to Five (3-5) years’ experience in marketing communications
  • Strong experience in internet marketing and utilization
  • Content Development
  • Trade Show Planning
  • Social Media Management
  • Experience with Adobe Marketo developing marketing campaigns and email marketing

Education and Certification Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Administration


Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 15% including U.S. and internationally
