Summary:

 

This position reports to the Director, Accounting and Controls and requires a proven financial leader with a 5- to 10-year track record of success providing guidance, analysis, and reporting to DFS worldwide. This position is also responsible for partnering with the global controllership staff and updating the global team on changes to the controllership landscape. The ideal candidate will exhibit a high degree of ethics, detail and organizational aptitude and have the ability to work seamlessly across cultures. The ability to collaborate across all functional areas of the business constructively and efficiently, within a fast-paced, manufacturing-intensive environment is key.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Director, Accounting and Controls, the Accounting Manager will partner to develop and implement robust procedures that create accurate, timely and relevant financial statements. They will also help manage communications with and between the Dover Corporation’s segment office, operating companies and executive management. They will be accountable to coordinate the submission of month end financials and supplemental information from all regional operations ensuring accuracy, consistency and timeliness. They will work with the shared services team and operating units to drive process improvements across all areas.

 

•Establish financial processes, including a strong internal control environment to assure the records of the company are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, Dover accounting manual, and other regulatory requirements, as applicable

•Meet Dover Corporation reporting requirements including monthly reporting, quarterly reporting, year-end and tax reporting, including consolidation and review of financial information from all operating units

•Partner with cross functional teams such as FP&A, Legal, Compliance and drive process improvements

•Perform Balance Sheet reviews, critical controls monitoring and Know Your Entity reviews of entities across our regions

•Assist with special projects on group wide initiatives, Kaizen events, process simplification and Operating Company specific projects as requested

•Be a key partner in implementation of Financial Reporting tool, One Stream and provide support from Controllership function.

•Assist in Transfer Pricing documentation and policy as required   

•Support information requests from Dover and communicate monthly operating results, and strategic initiatives to Dover Corporate as needed

•Partner with DBS Shared Services; drive process improvement in Accounts Receivable, including credit and collection, Accounts Payable and Payroll

•Develop and implement strategies to improve working capital, both within the shared services group, as well as coordinating with the International units; establish processes to manage and review unit working capital initiatives to drive overall improvement in working capital

•Coordinate the submission of monthly statements from the Operating Companies; perform preliminary review for errors, omissions, and ensure properly supported financial statements in compliance with all Dover and SOX standards; support Operating Company management with analysis as needed; maintain appropriate records

•Prepare reports that inform management of Key Financial Metrics; coordinate and consolidate non-financial reports from Operations for consolidated submission of productivity initiatives, governmental surveys, performance metrics and key driver analysis

•Coordination of Tax inputs for Corporate Office

•Provide technical accounting support and guidance to regional financial staffs; ensure Dover initiatives and requirements are communicated to and implemented by regional financial teams

•Complete tasks in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements; assist corporate accounting and coordinate related audits

•Develop and ensure strong relationships with business units, regions and Dover Corporate

Qualification Requirements:

 

•Minimum BS in Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline; MBA a plus

•CPA certification preferred

•Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting required

•5+ years’ experience in professional accounting with proven technical expertise and leadership in driving operational finance standards, processes and procedures

•Strong working knowledge of Longview integrated financial analytic application suite or similar reporting tool

•Expert user of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite

•Experience with Oracle or another modern ERP
