Position Summary:

Primary responsibility involves being a “hunter” sales person who will cultivate new business and market share gain in the Convenience Store Industry.

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of professional sales experience in the Convenience Store Industry.
  • Candidate will have demonstrated success in selling either systems, software, consumable goods or capital equipment.
  • Must possess a proven track record of being a ‘hunter’ sales person and relationship builder.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline is required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and prospecting new business clients, delivering the value proposition, driving the prospective customers through the sales cycle and closing the deal.
  • Proven track record of being a “hunter” and being successful in gaining market share through new customers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organization, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Public speaking and presenting.
  • Relationship selling/account penetration.
  • Strong knowledge of regional c-store companies; branded fuel wholesalers and large independents within the territory.
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications and Salesforce

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Territory - Texas.
  • Responsible for market share gain through competitive takeaways and new customers.
  • Specific customers for prospecting are regional convenience store companies; branded fuel wholesalers and large convenience store independents.
  • Consult with prospects about business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and cost benefits of each.
  • Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales.
  • Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as cold-calling, face-to-face meetings, channel partner leads, indirect methods such as networking, Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI), tradeshow leads, etc.
  • Maintain a high level of domain knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with prospects.
  • Develop and maintain territory plan which outlines how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide forecasts on best case and most likely sales volumes over relevant time periods.
  • Work with Sales management and marketing to plan and execute lead generation campaigns.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the retail petroleum market place and what factors influence the market and customer decisions.
  • Drive internal cross-functional meetings with different departments based on the needs of the customers.
  • Understand emerging technologies both within the industry and from Dover Fueling Solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of balance sheets, income statements, credit ratings, etc. in order to analyze commercial health of prospective customers.
  • Preparing and submitting requested reports (e.g. weekly sales funnel reports, expense reports, and account business plans).
  • A wide degree of latitude, creativity and entrepreneurial ideas is expected.
  • 50% travel.
