Hands-on Plant Controller position supporting MPG’s businesses and their local management teams in Austin, TX. Responsible for the businesses’ compliance with all corporate requirements related to financial close, internal controls, cost accounting, reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, safeguarding assets and supervising support staff. Supervises team members including hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc. to reasonably assure the accurate, complete, and timely performance of all accounting and business requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the lead financial representative for multiple business locations

Responsible for the timely completion of the monthly financial close including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, reviewing financial statements, reasonably ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with Dover/MPG policies and procedures

Preparation of management and operational reports

Develop and improve the accuracy and completeness of financial budgets and forecasts that support the execution of MPG’s business strategy

Safeguard company assets and reasonably ensure the accurate, complete, and timely recording of all business transactions through establishing and maintaining strong internal control environments

Oversee the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, and cost accounting

Perform various financial analyses to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc.

Interact with peer controllers and corporate staff to share ideas and develop best practices across the organization

Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, collection agencies, taxing authorities, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:
BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA license required. At least 7 years' experience in financial/accounting positions of increasing responsibility. Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries. Expertise with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses. Strong understanding of ERPs, especially deconstructing and reformulating business processes and procedures. The ability to develop and convey complex concepts through spreadsheets, charts, memos, and presentations, and apply logical reasoning to interrogate a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
