Position Summary:
This position is for an Mechanical/Hydraulic engineering intern for someone with knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic components and assemblies. This position focuses on sustaining efforts for existing products (e.g., support for regional production and manufacturing engineering teams) and R&D (research and development) projects as well.
Position Responsibilities:
R&D projects

Review global research projects – standards, work done and research implementation for North America

Assist with the build of prototype meters. Interns will be provided with assembly models in 3d to be used for reference.

Fabricate and assemble prototype components and modules used for testing
-
Develop design verification test methods with assistance.
-
Write test reports with assistance.
-
Assist with design reviews.

Assist with FFF, structural testing, hydraulic Cycle testing and regulatory.
Sustaining work
-
Assist with the build of prototype meters. Interns will be provided with assembly models in 3d to be used for reference.

Execute and document meter and check valve testing

Support and improve testers and test fixtures

Come up with recommendations to improve meter testing process
Qualification Requirements:
-
Enrolled in BS in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical engineering)

Knowledge of SolidWorks CAD system.
-
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Knowledge of a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of machine shops.
-
Knowledge of cross-functional design teams.
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of UL hazardous area zoning requirements for fuel dispensers.
