Dover Fueling Solutions, a global leader in fuel dispensing, payment processing and point of sale technology, is seeking a Solutions Architect specializing in Payment Security Standards and Systems and Application Security. The Security Architect will guide the payment hardware and software development to ensure compliance with the worldwide securities bodies such as PCI and EMVCo. They will also drive the certification process for DFS products, systems and software-enabled services with the worldwide security bodies. They will also define data (at rest and in transit), network and system security architecture capabilities within software & technology solutions applications, built on DFS’ technology platforms and product offerings, for worldwide customers. This role provides direction and leadership for driving security decisions for all new and existing software products and software-enabled services. This job reports to the Sr. Director, Global Platform Architecture. This position will be a local Austin, TX position, but requires travel (~10%) to coordinate worldwide solutions.  Candidate must live in reasonable commuting distance to Austin.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop a Technology Roadmap for application security
  • Define security standards for software products and software product development with an emphasis on PCI and GDPR
  • Drive product and system certification for DFS products and services
  • Maintain and extend relationship with QSA community and the Dover Digital Security and Dover Corporate Security Groups
  • Drive DFS’ interests and positions in security working groups at PCI, ISFS and Conexxus
  • Develop and architectural plan for transforming system and application security over time to simplify the architecture and add functionality
  • Develop effective architectural presentations, product design documentation and proofs-of-concepts to drive security standards into all products and services
  • Collaborate with the Product Management and Marketing teams on security whitepapers and position statements
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the retail petroleum market place and what factors influence the market and customer decisions related to security and certification
  • Introduce and create training for security DFS platforms and solutions, including partner systems
  • Deliver ongoing security presentations to product and sales teams
  • Be the point of contact for all security related inquiries from customers, partners, engineering teams, product teams and sales
  • Drive security standards and secure development practices training in the engineering and field services organizations
  • Maintain currency in emerging technologies and market, competitor and customer analysis in support of security within the DFS product and service offerings
  • Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define the security for software & software-enabled services; support definition of product roadmaps and solution capabilities outside the platform
  • A wide degree of latitude and creativity is expected


The successful candidate will have/possess:

  • Proven leadership and technical skills
  • Superior knowledge of PCI and EMV standards, requirements and certification
  • Superior knowledge application, data and system security with an emphasis on GDPR
  • Proven contact and relationship with PCI and EMVCo
  • Extended contacts in QSA community
  • Thorough understanding of the software development cycle, software architecture and product development
  • Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Public speaking/presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Qualification Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or comparable combination of education and experience is required
  • The successful candidate will have five (5) years of product software architecture with an emphasis on solution architecture
  • The successful candidate will have five (5) years of application, data and system security development
  • The successful candidate will have five (5) years of experience certifying products for:
    • PCI (PA-DSS & PCI-DSS)
    • PCI P2PE
    • EMV Levels 1, 2 & 3


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of C#/.Net product development experience
  • At least 3 years of experience as a QSA
  • At least 3 years of experience developing products in a high tech or energy related industry
  • Chairman or member of security working group in either ISFS or Conexxus
