The Python Developer will develop, test, and maintain code across Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) utilizing a broad mix of cloud and on-premise data sources.  You will work on projects both internally and customer facing.  You will collaborate with peers in software engineering, software quality assurance, sales, and project and product management to define and develop algorithms and processes that meet customer and system requirements. Following defined design practices and the use of sound software engineering principles, you will ensure that developed code is safe, robust, and user friendly. This also involves identifying problems within code, as well as creating and implementing solutions to deal with them.



  • Build software solutions in a timely fashion.
  • Accommodate various data storage solutions.
  • Design and build solutions in conjunction with predetermined requirements analysis, but challenge and question potential gaps in analysis.
  • Document key work, i.e., technical design, procedures and new technologies.
  • Perform code reviews with peers and implement standards for adoption.
  • Thoroughly unit and system test code changes.
  • Debug developed code to ensure high-performance and scalability.
  • Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.



General Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience with Python.
  • 1-3+ years of experience with Cloud Technologies preferably AWS Platform
  • Proficient Linux knowledge.
  • Strong programming skills with moderate to high level experience with Python.
  • Excellent knowledge of relational databases – DB2, MySQL, SQL Server, and/or Snowflake.
  • Understanding of Agile software development practices and continuous delivery.
  • Experience with data ETL processes (feeding from multiple different sources).
  • Experience with test driven development (TDD).
  • Knowledge of Pandas Python frameworks.
  • Proficient understanding of version control systems (git).
  • Proficient understanding of Jenkins Build management Tool.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, mathematical (statistical) skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working under limited supervision and handling routine matters on your own initiative.
  • Work with teams across the company to enable the rapid development of new functionality.
  • Exercises a high degree of judgment in matters related to materials, design, manufacturing, logistics and corporate compliance.
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience with AWS S3, EC2
    • Experience with Snowflake DB
    • Experience with AS400/RPG
    • Experience with Power BI
