SUMMARY:

This position involves development of user manuals, installation manuals, quick guides, and online help for the System solutions of DFS. The successful Technical Writer must be able to work independently or as part of a team and have the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.

 

DETAILED ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION:

 

  • Writing and editing user manuals, installation instructions, and quick help guides;
  • Writing and editing HTML help files;
  • Creating and editing photos and line drawings for user documentation;
  • Interviewing engineers and technicians;
  • Interfacing and supporting Product/Marketing efforts;
  • Providing support for generation of design and functional specifications;
  • Support DFS training department;
  • Work with Training in the development of training materials;
  • Responsible for technical accuracy and completeness of all Installation and User manuals;

 

 

SCHOLARSHIP:

B.S./B.A Degree

 

EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years of experience in technical writing (interviewing, writing, editing)

 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • Advanced/fluent English;
  • Technical illustration, photo and digital image manipulation;
  • Adobe Framemaker, Photoshop, Illustrator, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint and MS-Visio;
  • Write documentation that describes operation, programming, and installation of system utilizing proprietary hardware and software
  • HTML programming;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to operate at all levels comfortably: interfacing with Management, Customers and Engineers alike;
