Position Summary:

 

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the continuous improvement team in implementing DESTACO Operating System principals to drive improvement in all key financial and performance metrics. Manage all quality process (New model, Incoming, In process, Outgoing, Calibration). Manage & Planning and implement to effective quality objective. Manage & Analysis and solving problem of company process. Manage customer' s complain of quality issue. Manage and Implement customer audit. Manage and Improvement supplier problem. Manage and control internal audit.

 

He/she is responsible for ensuring that all products are in accordance with DESTACO’s quality assurance and reliability standards. He/she will implement and maintain the ISO 9000 compliant quality system and serve as the ISO Management Representative. He/she will have ultimate authority over the shipment of any and all products and customer satisfaction.  He/she will ensure that objectives listed on the Quality Policy are understood throughout the organization. He/she is responsible for the overall quality of product, supplier quality performance, exceeding customer requirements in the area of quality, leads or participates in continuous improvement projects, and is directly responsible for the effectiveness of the quality management system.

 

The Quality Manager reports to the Plant Manager, Thailand. The position is located in Bangkok, Thailand and requires minimal travel. The position supervises Inspection talent and project teams and requires the ability to work with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Materials Management and Finance teams as well as external customers and suppliers.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviews and resolves quality concerns with customers, suppliers, quality personnel
  • Conducts Management Review Meetings to report quality system performance to the Plant Manager
  • Serves as Management Representative for ISO 9000 activities
  • Responsible for managing maintenance of Quality lab, equipment and reliability test lab
  • Oversees the performance of Internal Quality Audits
  • Evaluates / approves new suppliers
  • Reviews and approves suppliers’ deviation requests
  • Participates in production planning, launches readiness process
  • Coordinates external audits by registrar
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts to drive improvement in financial and key metric performance

Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum ten (10) years experience in the quality field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Manager or Supervisor
  • Hands-on experience with metrology equipment (quality measuring tools i.e.  CMM, hardness tester, profile meter, etc.)
  • Knowledge of quality techniques including ISO auditing, SPC, FMEA, APQP, & inspection methods. 
  • Experienced in implementing Lean tools
  • Proficiency with Oracle and Excel

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong management and supervision skills with the ability to build, train and lead a team
  • Strong Statistical Process Control (SPS) background and experience
  • Knowledge of machining, stamping and assembly practices
  • Solid communication & presentation skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English language
  • Knowledge of budgeting and project management
  • General knowledge of inspection equipment and process

     

    Education and Certification Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering preferred

     

     

    Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel up to 10% of the time to customer/supplier locations and other DESTACO facilities
