FP&A Analyst

The Role 

 

As the FP&A Analyst you will be responsible for driving a strong focus on Commercial Operations in the USA, supporting the North American Regional Operational Excellence, influencing and advising local management on sound financial decisions.  You will be a key contributor to North American Leadership team, and serve as an important contributor to short-term initiatives, as well as the long-term strategic direction of Commercial operations by using sound financial assessments and analysis to influence decisions. This role is an integral part of the management team and will provide forecasting and transparency on the progress on the company’s annual operating plans and investments.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work with FP&A Team to prepare the operating and financial plan (AOP/Budget) required to achieve management’s strategic plan.
  • Coordinate processing of the rolling forecast process for geography of responsibility, engaging with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct variance analysis to provide transparency to management on how actual performance compares against forecasts, and budget.
  • Work with FP&A Team to advise management on decisions such as how to improve performance, minimize risk, or capture new opportunities from both within the company and within the external environment. Prepare materials and lead discussions for financial portions of review meeting, including:
    • Analysis of historic financials
    • Variance explanations
    • Update forecasts with risks and opportunities to current plan
    • Provide Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to Management Team
  • Other areas of responsibility: Using BI Tools to deliver meaningful insights into business performance:
    • Provide Management with detailed analysis, and commentary, on cost center results
    • Prepare, with the FP&A and Financial team, business cases to support new investments, strategic, and other business decisions 

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in FP&A role in an industrial and/or distribution type industry.
  • Positive attitude and strong team player with eagerness to learn and add value to the organization.
  • Must possess a strong analytical skillset, including the utilization of BI and reporting tools.
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail. Ability to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers.
  • Proficient in both speaking and writing English
  • Intellectually curious, and able to understand the business with a high level of business acumen.
  • Self-starter who will take initiative. Independent in work ethic and thought process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP system, One-Source, BW, and Power BI.
