POSITION TITLE: Product Change Coordinator

 

SUMMARY:

This Individual is responsible for performing assigned duties to optimize the coordination and implementation of product changes and updating product information in various business applications. Responsibilities include coordination of change releases with Operations team and the setup of new and maintenance of existing products in the business system software to assure accurate information is produced and that commercial facing information is full, accurate, and formatted as desired. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Interpreting prints, drawings, and other data assets from VSG and vendors.
  • Interface with business applications such as Oracle enterprise resource management and Synchrono manufacturing management to update information and assure accuracy of data.
  • Key areas of coordination
    • Design Engineering – to understand dispositions, priorities and design intent.
    • Operations – to establish release dates.
    • Product Management – to verify commercial facing PIM data is full and accurate.
    • Marketing – to ensure commercial facing PIM data is formatted properly.
  • Optimization to improve the accuracy and timeliness of releases is critical to this role.

 

Responsibilities:

Coordinate with key personnel to collect information and optimize timing of release and material usage.

Coordinate manufacturing changes required by approved Change Order (CO) and Coordinate product changes required by approved Change Order (CO) and prepare bill of materials/special jobs. Copy, distribute and archive drawings and CO coversheets.

Coordinate updates to PIM database required by Product Changes, Error Corrections and Commercial needs as directed.

Investigate and implement continuous improvement to the change release process and related processes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Detail oriented and ability to follow a process to make many system entries for each product change.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills relative to initiating communication and interacting with multiple business disciplines to get answers.
  • Ability to work with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • A self-starter who works well and gets results under general supervision.
  • Ability to identify waste in a process and to develop innovative ways to eliminate the waste.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience setting up products in an MRP or ERP system.
  • Experience setting up products in a Product Information Management tool
  • Experience with Oracle, Synchrono, Creo, Windchill.
  • A college degree in Business, Engineering or a similar field of study.
