Position Summary:   

The Inside Sales, Shipping & Logistics team member will process incoming orders, price out commissions and shipping charges, prepare invoices, and answer questions from customers or individuals on how products operate. They will also manage the preparation and routing of purchase orders, sale orders, shipping documents etc. And ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Makes sure that quotes are processed through the quoting process in a timely manner.  

  • Processes incoming orders to customer order specifications. 

  • Computes price, discount, sales representative's commission, and shipping charges as required. 

  • Interfaces with company branches and outside sales by providing customer-order quotes, ship dates and order status information.  

  • Uses product knowledge to inform customer of unit prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer. 

  • prepares invoices and shipping documents such as export papers, commercial invoices.  

  • Specifies if special labelling is required for shipment and in some instances supplies to the shipping department.  

  •  Checks shipping orders to ensure they are accurate with regards to quantity shipped; this is done by comparing shipping documents with computer generated reports.  

  • Receives and checks customer complaints.  

  • Confers with production, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.  

  • Answers questions from customers or individuals on how a product operates or directs them to the person that can assist them.  

  • Respond to customer inquiries and refer clients to the appropriate channels. 

  • Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products. 

  • Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments. 

 

Qualifications / Requirements: 

  • Science degree with experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field 

  • Proven work experience as a supply chain, Shipping co-ordinator or similar role 

  • Extensive know-how of logistics operations 

  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office as well as any industry standard computer programs. 

  • Experience in preparing shipping documents, Sales Orders, and reporting.  

  • Knowledgeable on freight terms. 

  • Previous experience with Manufacturing ERP.
