We are seeking a high-calibre Senior Engineering Program Manager to bridge the gap between breakthrough innovation and scalable manufacturing. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end journey of new product development (NPD), from initial laboratory research (R&D) to full-scale market delivery.
The ideal candidate is a hybrid leader who possesses both the technical rigor of Technology Development, Product Development using Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) principles and strategic mindset required for Innovation Portfolio Management. You will be responsible for navigating complex technical challenges while ensuring that our product pipeline aligns with long-term business goals.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Program & Portfolio Leadership: Drive the strategic execution of the innovation portfolio, ensuring resources are allocated effectively across multiple high-priority projects.
- Stage-Gate Governance: Own and optimize the Stage-Gate process, leading cross-functional teams through rigorous design reviews, risk assessments, and milestone approvals.
- New Product Development (NPD): Lead products through the entire lifecycle, ensuring technical specifications, timelines, and budget targets are met or exceeded.
- DFSS & Quality Excellence: Implement Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies to ensure product robustness, reliability, and performance from the earliest design phases.
- Technology to Product Scaling: Manage the transition of "Lab-to-Fab," ensuring that emerging technologies are successfully scaled into manufacturable, commercially viable products.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to integrate DFM/DFA principles, reducing cost and complexity while maintaining high quality.
- Laboratory & Resource Management: Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring equipment, protocols, and safety standards support rapid prototyping and experimental validation.
- Stakeholder Orchestration: Act as the primary liaison between engineering, executive leadership, and external partners, translating technical roadmaps into business value.
Must Have Skills:
- Education: Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 15+ years in R&D or Product Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial role.
- Methodology Expertise: Certified or highly proficient in DFSS (Green/Black Belt), proven track record in Stage-Gate project management and R&D portfolio
- Strategic Execution: Proven track record of scaling at least one complex technology from laboratory concept to successful commercial launch.
- Leadership: Experience of managing engineering teams and laboratory environments.
- Project Management Tools: PMP certification, statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, MATLAB), and lab management tools.
- Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence the top-level business leaders
