Reporting to the Operations Manager, the SCM creates and deploys a comprehensive enterprise wide procurement, transportation, distribution, and inventory planning/forecasting strategy, partnering with the Inside Sales and Senior Management of ICS and OPW/Dover Sourcing Teams; manages the supply chain function in such a way as to minimize the total cost and increases the quality of materials requirements for all internal and external customers; leads the Supply Chain team in driving the most efficient, lowest total cost solution for materials and distribution of those materials through the supply chain.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leveraging procurement, distribution, transportation, and forecasting synergies across the business units.
  • Developing systems and procedures that increase productivity and efficiency and by utilizing state of the art electronic planning and scheduling tools.
  • Selecting, partnering, and negotiating with world class suppliers to meet the strategic objectives of the organization
  • Sourcing products and services on a global basis using total cost analysis.
  • Leading the Purchasing team in accelerating the reduction of material costs.
  • Assuring that the required planning and pre-negotiation processes are aligned with the business unit and corporate objectives.
  • Drives the execution of the supply chain initiatives by understanding and responding to the requirements and plans of the business units.
  • Understand the capabilities and plans of the supplier partners and establishes metrics to measure their performance.
  • Influences the business units to modify requirements to align with corporate objectives without sacrificing the level of service to customers.
  • Develops and monitors implementation of policies and procedures related to material management & logistics.
  • Devises methods and policies ensuring the most efficient and economical receipt and movement of all materials in and out of plant sites.
  • Participates in capital purchases and long-term contract negotiations.
  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluation, organizing, integrating, and controlling.

Has supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.  



  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Specialization in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management preferred.
  • 3 plus years progressive experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Proven success record of managing purchasing activities.
  • Working knowledge of the following supply chain functions: Purchasing, Demand Planning, Production Planning, Order Entry, Order Management, Inventory Management, Transportation, and Systems Development.
  • This position is based in Bethlehem, PA and may require up to 10% business travel to support the business and customers. 


Preferred Qualifications 

  • 5 years procurement experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years’ experience in supplier management.
  • 2+ years project planning or MRP planning experience.
  • Expert negotiating skills.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and implementation experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills and data capabilities required.
  • Proven track record of interpreting the complex relationships of policies, contractual requirements and the legal/regulatory aspects of the supply chain to establish and implement effective negotiation strategies.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, communication skills, and relationship management.
  • Hands on work ethic with results focus is required.
  • Strong collaboration skills. Expert in working in cross functional areas.
  • High level of customer focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with customers and coworkers.
  • High level of proficiency in Oracle or similar ERP system and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-directed, positive and ethical role model able to work with minimal supervision.


Work Environment:

The noise level in the production work environment is usually moderate. Work will be performed in a climate controlled warehouse environment.
