Position Summary

The Financial Controller reports to the Senior Manager Finance and plays a key role in safeguarding the integrity of the company’s financial reporting. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial results in compliance with US GAAP, as well as maintaining a strong and effective internal control environment across our Netherlands entities.

The position is based at our Bladel (North Brabant, NL) facility. Reporting to the Benelux Senior Finance Manager, this is a critical finance position within a dynamic and growing international business.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on Financial Controller who is comfortable working with US GAAP, local GAAP, and management reporting. In this role, you will support the finance organization by taking ownership of accounting-related activities and maintaining full visibility and control over the cost base of the Bladel site.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, enjoys working with numbers, and demonstrates excellent attention to detail. At the same time, you are eager to broaden your scope within the wider finance function and contribute to the continued development of our finance organization.

Your goal is to help ensure the efficient operation of the finance department, enabling the company to maintain full visibility of its financial performance and support informed business decisions for long-term success.

The main duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1) Month-End Closing & Financial Reporting
• Lead the month-end closing process in close collaboration with the Shared Service Center, FP&A team, and Global Controllership to ensure timely delivery of accurate monthly results in line with the corporate timetable
• Prepare and submit journal entries to the Shared Service Center for posting in the local ERP system
• Validate financial results and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
• Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations, including:
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Fixed assets ledger to subledger reconciliation
• Depreciation schedules
• Take ownership of the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements

2) Operational Finance & Cost Control
• Review expenses, payroll records, and other assigned financial transactions
• Review and monitor financial postings performed by the Shared Service Center
• Monitor and follow up on CAPEX spending
• Drive strong cost control and financial analysis, including understanding product cost trends and managing fixed costs
• Monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in collaboration with the Shared Service Center
• Support process improvements in Accounts Receivable (credit & collections), Accounts Payable, and General Ledger processes
• Participate in recurring operational meetings such as Daily Tier Meetings and ECN sessions
• Support cost price management and analysis

3) Compliance, Controls & Reporting
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and financial reports in accordance with legal and company accounting guidelines
• Ensure timely VAT submissions in collaboration with the Shared Service Center
• Manage required governmental filings (CBS, Intrastat, etc.)
• Deliver high-quality P&L and Balance Sheet analysis in collaboration with the Finance Manager and Benelux Finance team
• Maintain and strengthen the internal control environment, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements and company policies
• Introduce improved controls to mitigate potential risks

4) Audit, Budgeting & Projects
• Prepare statutory financial filings and act as the primary contact for external auditors
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process
• Support finance projects and ad hoc initiatives within the division when required

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a proactive and collaborative mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in finance or accounting

• Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and accounting standards

• Knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, internal controls, and management accounting

• US GAAP knowledge is a strong advantage

 

Experience & Skills

• Experience in a manufacturing environment or related industry is highly beneficial

• Experience with OneStream or another modern EPM / consolidation tool (preferred)

• Experience with MS Dynamics or another modern ERP system (preferred)

• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

• Strong team player with a flexible and proactive attitude

• Open-minded and eager to learn

• Confident, accountable, and solution-oriented mindset
