The Role

 

This role will be a senior leader in the Dover Imaging and Identification Segment. The successful incumbent will lead the CIJ Product Division with a strong focus on product strategy evolution. This product division is focused on the overall management and p&l ownership of a range of CIJ products and the related aftermarket. The role is accountable for the strategic plan, product pricing and positioning, product roadmaps for new and existing product developments, phase in and phase out, and collaborating with our Commercial teams to drive install base evolution and profitable share growth.

 

In this role you will lead and manage the Product Marketing, Engineering, Product Development, and project management functions related to the delivery of the portfolio.

 

You will need a strong product strategy mindset, an ability to drive cross functional margin improvement projects, collaborative style, and a disciplined delivery focus to work successfully across our global and diverse teams. You should have extensive experience in business to business product marketing competencies, a leadership profile; cross functional project management skill set is beneficial. You should have a collaborative mindset and be able to work across product divisions in support of a global platform and flexible centralized resource management approach.

 

What you will do:

 

Strategy

  • Lead vision, strategy development and product road maps for the CIJ product range for our MI customers in FMCG markets.
  • Lead strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives.
  • Oversee the management of the product line with focus on product pricing and positioning.
  • Develop and manage plans to deliver year on year productivity improvements.
  • Support the cross-division, global platform convergence strategy to create efficiencies.

 

Product Development

  • Oversee via a project management, product marketing and engineering team, all new product opportunities or enhancements of existing products through the phases from concept to launch and implementation leveraging a scalable agile methodology.
  • Lead new product, feature, and capability definition for current and future product offerings.
  • Ensure our product development aligns to solving market problems, addresses customer needs as well as driving best in class product cost and superior value based price capture.
  • Partner with the global commercial teams, key account and global strategic accounts on vision, voice of the market and competitive analysis into new product and product enhancement decisions, development, and delivery.
  • Oversee the creation of market needs, product requirements and building of financial models to support new programs for these markets.
  • Ensure product development efforts conform to global engineering discipline standards and include an aggressive approach to reuse and contribute global product platform modules.

 

Product Road Map

  • Oversee the investigation, definition, and creation of multi-year global roadmaps for our products including  in line with the company strategy and a matrix engineering and technology structure.
  • Ensure alignment of product road maps and post launch activities with product development schedules, preproduction, production schedules, sales and marketing and company strategy.

 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate across  Global Engineering , Compliance, IP, and program management teams.
  • Build a high performing team aligned to delivery of profitable growth.
  • Provide exceptional leadership to optimise performance and continually improve efficiency and capability.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure alignment of product requirements, product road maps, product development and engineering plans.
  • Ensure alignment of processes tools and best practices to MI Standards.

 

What you need to have:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering or related field. Masters’ degree preferred.
  • Must have 10+ years of work experience in the product strategy and NPI environment leading cross functional teams.
  • Strong leadership skills, proven ability to attract the best talent and build highly engaged teams and deliver superior business results. Leader with a mindset to coach and mentor.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate across global organizations.
  • Have a customer and market driven mindset and aptitude for product marketing excellence, analysing customer needs create differentiated product offerings.
  • Have a strong product management background, marketing management and full product lifecycle experience.
  • Excellent communication skills having a high comfort level interacting with executive teams, partners and customers.
  • Prior experience working and leading in a product platforming environment preferred.
  • Strong profitable growth orientation, posses basic financial skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
