What are you going to do?

You are primarily responsible for the safe operation and cost-effective management of Belvac’s European manufacturing facilities in Dongen en Plzen (CZ). Your main location will be Dongen. You will provide leadership to ensure that a highly motivated, well-trained and self-managed workforce exists and is maintained. You make sure that there are smooth processes, optimal efficiency and uses KPI’s to achieve the corresponding output. You will report to the VP of Operations in the United States and are in control (direct and indirect) of 30 employees. You directly manage the departments of Purchase, Logistic and Production. We all need a pleasant and safe working environment, where further development of individuals is key, it’s up to you to maintain this. Furthermore you make sure that process and production improvements are provided through best practices and your own insight.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership with multi-site responsibility to ensure a highly motivated, well-trained ad self-managed workforce.
  • Responsible for the development and compliance of safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Support the Belvac Management System including maintenance of documentation and records, adherence to procedures and instructions, auditing of procedures, and training for all employees within the manager's defined area of responsibilities. Ensure proper work instructions exist to adequately key employees’ functions.
  • Utilize Lean Sigma Tools to drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Utilize capacity planning analysis to assure proper planning and execution to achieve on time delivery of products in all business conditions.
  • Effectively provide mentoring and coaching to maximize employee performance. Assure an environment exists that motivates and develops personnel to optimize performance, promote professional and personal growth and create a team based self-managed workforce.
  • Full budgetary responsibility and accountability for all areas managed. Routinely monitor and make cost management decisions for manufacturing operations including establishing cost reduction objectives quarterly and annually.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPI’s) to monitor business performance objectives. Address KPI’s by analysing root cause issues and implement corrective actions to achieve required objectives.
  • Responsible for effective leadership and project management of assigned objectives and tasks. This includes creating project implementation plans, timelines, and written reports detailing progress to milestone objectives.
  • Assures production schedules, specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates are met throughout manufacturing.

 

Who are you?

You are ready for the next step in your career. You are an experienced operations manager / leader and will make an important contribution to the development of the operations department and organization strategy overall. You are willing to take on the lead in to optimizing the operations department within Belvac (NL and CZ). You are not afraid of addressing the daily stress levels of a dynamic business environment and are able to drive change through the facility.

 

Education:

Degree in Business, Engineering or Industrial Manufacturing, ideally with a Master’s in Business Administration. Lean certification or minimum of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an operations/manufacturing environment. Ideally with specific experience in machining of very tight tolerance components and/or assembling large capital equipment.
  • Direct experience using lean tools (TPM) to drive continuous improvement, reduce costs and improve lead times.
  • Direct experience with leading change (Kaizen events) with direct and indirect personnel
  • Experience in international business operations ideally including multi-site facility oversight.
  • You are not afraid of speaking to large groups of people, your verbal and written communication is excellent in Dutch and English.
