DFS acquired LIQAL BV, a technology-driven, highly-scalable company specializing in small-scale liquified natural gas (LNG) and hydrogen technologies, complemented by LIQAL’s proprietary software. At LIQAL we offer turnkey project solutions, which we design, build, maintain and technically operate. Position Summary:
The Product Engineer is accountable for developing and optimizing products for L(C)NG and hydrogen installations. This includes creating detailed technical specifications, verifying designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and production. The role focuses on driving innovation while ensuring high quality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability. The Product Engineer plays a pivotal role in translating customer requirements into functional and manufacturable products for L(C)NG and hydrogen installations, ensuring that they meet all necessary performance standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate customer requirements into technical product specifications for LNG and hydrogen installations, ensuring the final product meets or exceeds expectations
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Procurement, Production and Engineering to ensure designs are optimized and align with customer expectations in the respect of performance, cost, and manufacturability while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain clear, accurate, and organized product documentation, ensuring traceability from concept to production
- Collaborate with R&D on failure analysis and implement design improvements to optimize product functionality, cost-effectiveness in L(C)NG and hydrogen products
- Collaborate with the LIQAL team on managing the product development process, from concept through to production, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure appropriate materials and components are sourced for L(C)NG and hydrogen product development
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting and supporting design modifications implementations that improve product performance or reduce costs
- Monitor and review customer feedback to refine product designs and improve product quality in L(C)NG and hydrogen products
Candidate Experience and Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Product Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Design, or another cryogenic related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in product engineering or product design, (advantage if familiar with alternative fuels, in the cryogenic area)
- Experience in designing, developing, and testing products
- Experience with simulation tools or other engineering software for product testing and validation is a plus
