SCOPE:
• The Cost Accountant is responsible for determining costs within the revenue recognition stream. This position will also be responsible for designing reports and verifying data generated by the system, as well as ensuring that accurate, timely data is used for qualitative analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establishes standard costs for all new products; maintains cost files throughout the year.
• Loads correct coding for parts being sold.
• Maintains rules for Customer Order Management (COM) and Inventory Management (IM) within the system.
• Rolls cost standards on an annual basis.
• Books standard cost revaluation.
• Generates Material Price Variance reports and research variances (weekly and monthly).
• Reports Perpetual Inventory to senior leadership team on a weekly basis.
• Maintains GL and inventory count of product at consignment locations.
• Reports Monthly Sales, Cost of Sales and Inventory.
• Prepares monthly journal entries related to MPV, cost of sales, and inventory adjustments.
• Assigns accounts for Inventory Movements on a monthly basis.
• Performs account correction in IM prior to posting.
• Posts all inventory transactions on a monthly basis.
• Reports vendor packaging consignment activity on a monthly basis.
• Books physical inventory results annually.
• Reports year-end inventory balances.
• Prepares budget schedules for: vacation, holiday and physical inventory inputs. Schedules fringe and personnel allocation calculations. Calculates annual labor and overhead rates for standard costing.
• Performs wire transfer payments for international vendors, I/C locations, and special vendors.
EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, from an accredited university, required. CPA or MBA a plus.
• Minimum of 5 - 7 years progressive experience in cost accounting (preferred) or general accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Excel spreadsheet skills required.
• AS400 experience (Infor XA) a plus.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement Process highly desired.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, multi-cultural, global company.
• Must be a self-starter with a willingness to ask questions when uncertain.
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
