Hiltap manufacturers high-end coupling and fittings used by Fortune 500 companies all over the world. Our products are manufactured to tight tolerances with high quality surface finishes. The ideal candidate will be a  Journeyman or 2nd year apprentice with Tig Welding experience. This position would require the interested person to be a B pressure welder or have the ability to get a C pressure ticket.  Additional knowledge, skills and abilities of the ideal candidate include:

Responsibilities:

• Develop expertise in product knowledge
• Responsible for the fabrication of high quality Tig welded parts.
• Ability to fit, tack, cut and grind weld preps and saddles.
• Ability to read manufacturing drawings,
• Daily meetings with Production leader to keep updated on manufacturing issues.

Job Requirements

• Experience in pipe and pressure welding of Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum.
•  Sanitary welding will be an asset

Education/Experience:

• Required to have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Registered or willing to register into Welding Apprentice program
• Excellent verbal skills to communicate with Co-workers and supervisors regarding technical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints specifications.
• Strong skills and working knowledge

Mathematical Skills:

• Strong mathematical skills to perform and understand machinist calculations as it relates to materials as well as a basic mechanical aptitude.

Attitude:

• Must display a positive attitude in dealing with supervisors and co-workers
• Have open lines of communication with team members. Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with co-workers.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Must be able to work from Calgary facility.
• Possible lifting of heavier items, bending, kneeling and stretching.
• Fast paced office environment with artificial lighting
