POSITION TITLE: Buyer, Supply Chain - Aftermarket

REPORTING TO: Buyer, Supply Chain - Aftermarket LOCATION: Cebu, Philippines

Summary Description: Dover Business Services is currently looking for enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for procurement/purchasing. Main responsibility is to perform various purchasing duties to obtain supplies, raw materials, and equipment. Specifically purchasing of quality material at the lowest cost and best total value consistent with company guidelines and policy that will ship direct to customer. This position is based in Cebu, Philippines. 

Job Description:

  • Maintain good company image and supplier relations through the many daily business contacts whether through calls or emails.
  • Advise other departments of any changes in prices and lead times.
  • Expedite deliveries.
  • When necessary, get engineering's approval for alternate materials if delivery would delay production.
  • Issue debit memos to vendors on changes resulting from return material.
  • Assist customer service and fulfillment teams in getting answers to their questions.
  • Identify and escalate issues to Team Leads
  • Document all call information according to standard operating procedures
  • Follow up supplier calls where necessary
  • Act as liaison between plant personnel and vendors.
  • Negotiate vendor rejects and advise vendor of reason for rejections and the cost incurred as a result of defective material.
  • Arrange for the repair or replacement of defective material.
  • Select vendor, based on most favorable total value consistent with quality, delivery, service.
  • Review purchase order acknowledgement which contains discrepancies in pricing or delivery.
  • Maintain current and potential source file.
  • Issue credit memos under circumstances that require cancellation of debits or where adjustments are necessary to settle disputes.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any business-related course.
  • 3 years experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain.
  • Good Oral and Written Communication Skills

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Intermediate knowledge in Office Applications such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Experience in handling Customers through phone and email.
  • Experience in using CRM tools such as SalesForce and InContact is preferred.
  • Experience in using ERP tools such as AS400, Oracle, Syteline and Visual
  • Knowledge about different Supply Chain Management processes and procedure.
