Senior Specialist, Tax Center of Excellence

POSITION TITLE: SENIOR SPECIALIST – TAX CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
REPORTING TO: Lead, Tax Center of Excellence
LOCATION: Cebu, Philippines
Summary Description:
Dover Business Services (DBS) is looking for talented Tax Center of Excellence Senior Specialist to join our new shared service center in Cebu, Philippines. Working within an emerging shared services organization, the Tax Center of Excellence Senior Specialist you will be overseeing tax activities for supported business units in a specific region (US/EMEA) and will act as a subject matter expert in terms of dealing complexities of tax treatment within the region. You will also be responsible in liaising and escalating issues to other functions, business units or third party provider as needed. As a Tax Center of Excellence Senior Specialist you will also be involved in operational processing to include data collection and management, account reconciliation and tracking of correspondence. You will also be overseeing and supervising Tax Analysts.

Essential Responsibilities:

Manage the tax relevant financial, internal and external reporting requirements for a specific region and keep up to date with relevant changes to the tax landscape

Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and Operating Companies

Report to stakeholders on the progress of projects and other concerns

Analyzes, reviews, interprets and validates the data supplied by the Business Unit and/or Financial Systems for the tax relevant financial, internal and external reporting requirements

Identify and recommend as well as lead in tax process improvements projects, which may include software implementation, automation, or workpaper improvement and ongoing continuous process improvement;

Help develop and deliver end user training and maintain user documentation of all trainings in latest technologies

Assist in the management of tax automation and reporting tools
• Assure that tax technology solutions are up to date with the legal requirements which includes
screening changes in law to assist in assessing the impact on the different applications in use
• Communicate with stakeholders status of supported tax activities and escalate issues/concerns
as needed thru regular update calls or touchpoints
• Interact with stakeholders, customers, suppliers and internal teams in a courteous and
responsible manner, to resolve issues, concerns and provide updates on projects
• Interact with taxing authorities to gather information necessary for tax compliance
requirements and other concerns
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Taxation or related field; with supervisory experience is an advantage
• Working knowledge in International Indirect Taxation (Sales +VAT) and emerging tax technologies
is an advantage
• Previous experience in maintaining emerging tax technologies, troubleshooting tax technology
problems and composition of tax written advice
• Proficient computer skills including excellent Microsoft Excel experience (SharePoint a plus)
