Summary Description:

 

Working with an emerging shared services organization, the Specialist, Business Process Controls is responsible in supporting assurance and consulting engagements across DBS sites, projects and/or initiatives related to the continuous improvement of control processes, execution of control reviews, transition activities and ad hoc activities. This position is based in Cebu, Philippines.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct regular review of changes made to vendor and customer master data to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Verify that all master data modifications are properly documented and traceable.
  • Verify that master data changes are compliant with internal policies, data standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify inconsistencies, errors, or omissions in the master data and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions and process improvements to prevent future discrepancies.
  • Work closely with master data management team, DBS Operating Companies, and relevant stakeholders to ensure that changes are made in alignment with business policies.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of all reviews conducted, including the nature of the findings and corrective actions taken.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to management as required.
  • Monitor the remediation status of SOX deficiencies and escalate timely as needed.
  • Support the timely facilitation of requirements arising from assurance and consulting engagements.
  • Coordinate with DBS operations in the timely completion of the quarterly access review for ERPs.
  • Coordinate with the Business Process Improvement (BPI) team and track the completion status of controls impact on continuous improvement initiatives/projects.
  • Assist the annual segregation of duties (SOD) review.
  • Pro-actively collaborate with DBS Operations in identifying and implementing control process improvement opportunities.
  • Drive resolution of remediation items and implementation of process improvement suggestions (e.g. resolution of SOD/access issues). Communicate progress to leadership on a routine basis.
  • Other ad hoc and agreed-upon projects and/or initiatives as assigned.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Business Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in quality auditing, data management, controls and risk management, or related role preferably in a shared service organization.
  • Audit background from reputable audit firms is a plus.
  • Experience in managing data in large ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (Ex: Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Charts and Graphs etc.).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting and facilitating presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
