POSITION SUMMARY:

The Finance Director, Special Projects, Part-time will have a strong accounting background in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated knowledge of primary accounting processes and cycles including experience in financial planning, forecasting, costing, budgeting, and analysis. Experience in a business with a software services component would be valuable. Individual must possess excellent communication and process improvement skills as well as the characteristics needed to proactively establish and develop internal business partnerships across all levels of the organization. This role will be a valued member of the Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) Finance Team focused on special projects in a variety of different areas supporting improvements in financial processes, procedures, analysis, forecasting and planning which drive improvements in financial performance.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Utilize Change Management, Project Management and Business Process Management disciplines for successful delivery of initiatives on-time.
  • Successfully managing a variety of special projects as assigned by the CFO and VP, FP&A that drive value in targeted areas such as:
    • Analysis related to M&A projects
    • Product and Service Cost / Pricing analysis
    • Customer and Product profitability analysis
    • Evaluation of Capital projects (pre and post implementation)
    • Enhancing forecasting accuracy in areas of both P&L and Balance Sheet
    • Developing and implementing enhanced management accounting processes in targeted areas to drive improved financial insights / performance measurements
    • Support development of annual operating plans and annual strategic plan updates
    • Evaluate and recommend changes in financial accounting processes / procedures in new and emerging areas
    • Providing mentorship to members of finance team
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality with all information obtained.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience is required. 
  • At least 10 years of financial experience.
  • Experience in a business with a software services component is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Must be knowledgeable in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Possess excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Be skilled in ability to effectively communicate accounting and financial information to all levels across the organization.
  • Have a sense of urgency in their delivery and flexibility in terms of their style and approach.
  • Must possess a strong professional diplomacy, ability to work independently and accept outside direction.
  • Must be a strong leader and change agent with high integrity and proven success managing and developing a team.
