POSITION SUMMARY:

Support the corporate controlling shared service function in the financial transaction and reporting responsibilities for Environmental Solutions Group’s (ESG) companies.  This position will have responsibility primarily for financial matters related to the corporate entity but may perform transactions for other ESG companies as consistent with the shared-service concept.  This position ensures that established policies and procedures are being followed consistently, as well as special projects assigned by management.  This position will report to the Corporate Controller but may take guidance or instruction from the Technical Accounting Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Assist with month-end financial reporting to the Parent Company for multiple entities.
  • Complete monthly financial journal entries throughout month as required.
  • Complete month-end financial journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform account reconciliations after month-end with a high degree of accuracy and follow-up on any noted differences.
  • Maintain vendor master data records in the ERP system and the change approval processing.
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations for incoming deposits.
  • Resolve automated cash application issues or differences. Follow-up on discrepancies and drive improvements or necessary changes.
  • Assist sales tax manager with data requests pertaining to monthly sales tax submissions as well as providing support for sales tax audits.
  • Assist financial controller with external and internal financial audit activities as needed.
  • Look for ways to improve the quality of the job function and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Effectively interact proactively when dealing with internal and external personnel.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports as requested.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA and/or CMA a plus.
  • 5 plus years’ experience in either a large public accounting firm or prior experience a manufacturing environment using ERP systems.
  • Exposure to a business environment with strong financial and IT internal controls.
  • Demonstrated valuable experience in the area of continuous improvement and able to drive change as required by business demands.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel or similar programs.
  • Ability to maintain honesty, integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
