Position Summary:
The Sales Manager will specifically focus on a developing Wilden product sales and Channel Partners in Southern India and neighboring countries such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. The Sales Manager will be the key driver for focused operations in the assigned market(s) and will coordinate efforts with all other areas of Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Finance to service and grow the assigned market(s).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Sales Manager and reporting to the Sales Director.
- Responsible for studying and defining the optimum distribution / market representation model that will maximize revenue and market share for assigned territory.
- Responsible for garnering interest and specification of product by conducting training at Customers, dealers and other influencers/specifiers.
- Develop and drive the Go-To-Market strategy for the assigned market(s) and implement and follow the strategy to achieve projected gains.
- Responsible for the assessment of market potential in each assigned territory and market.
- Responsible for direct interface with assigned strategic accounts and OEMs with the goal of increasing account penetration, sales and profitability.
- Executes distribution, market representation growth strategies or changes that have been developed and approved by Sales Management in a professional and timely manner.
- Continually evaluates channel performance. Communicates clear expectations to the distributors and coaches them on ways to increase sales effectiveness. Monitors progress and communicates performance deficiencies and defined action steps to correct said deficiencies in a clear and timely fashion. Works with the channel partners on an annual basis to develop a structured and executable business plan.
- Evaluates and monitors distributor and distributor staff sales acumen as these relate to the PSG Rotating Equipment pump product lines. Recommends areas of improvement and timeframes for implementation of improvements as needed.
- Regional Sales manager coordinates all training and direct marketing activities (direct mail, trade shows, etc.) within the assigned territory.
- Responsible for managing a budget in a responsible fashion and for control of costs.
- Performs market representation analysis on a regular basis in order to maintain a knowledge level of changing business conditions and of best distribution and sales options in any given market.
- Maintains a focused business perspective by monitoring and staying current on political, socio-economic, distribution and demographic trends as these relate to the assigned territory to insure that new business opportunities are captured and existing business is maintained.
- Implements “Value Added” sales concepts with distributors and distributor staff.
- Makes sure that the distributor and the distributor staff and all product sales channel personnel have an adequate knowledge of the Pump product lines, the market, the market dynamics, competitive offerings and sales and marketing strategies needed to promote the Pump lines with success.
- Research and understand any external market triggers (government, certifications, alternate markets, etc.) and establish specific actions and recommendations for Marketing, Manufacturing and Sales to take advantage of these areas as conditions dictate.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelors in Engineering, Business or related field and 15+ years’ experience in pumps.
- Understanding of channel and route to market for AODD pumps.
- Self-sufficient and self-motivated. Works with little supervision.
- Travel (drive and air) up to up to 50~60% of time. Attend trade shows and meetings as needed. Maintain records necessary for effective planning.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
