Position Summary: The role of the Product Marketing Manager is to create demand for products through effective messaging and marketing programs. This role is responsible for implementing, planning and managing the top of the sales funnel within the designated PSG brands globally.

The position requires competencies in all communications skills with extensive experience in applying these competencies in a business to business environment. Success in this position requires strong management, planning, analysis, critical thinking and communication skills.

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Strategy and Management:

  • Analyze the purpose of the MarCom positioning (generate purchases, launch products, create brand awareness)

  • Conduct research and evaluate key audiences

  • Determine strategy, tactics, targets, and budget

  • Create promotional materials

  • Measure effectiveness and adjust as needed to optimize efforts and achieve ROI and KPI’s

 

Marketing Messaging:

  • Develop, manage and coordinate all marketing activities, including but not limited to, customer acquisition campaigns and customer retention campaigns with channel partners and sales personnel

  • Create consistent positioning statements, messaging and associated proof points. This source material is used by marketing to generate public-facing marketing collateral

  • Build on product messaging that sets new products apart from others in market

  • Communicate vision and value of new products to sales team and develop sales tools that facilitate the selling process

  • Plan and participate the launch of new services and products which involve several different departments

  • Create content such as case studies, videos, website copy and blog posts

  • Obtain insights into customers’ usage of current products, untapped opportunities and buyer personas, through interviews, surveys, focus groups and sales data

  • Support our sales channels and understand the problems we solve for our buyers and users. Develop internal tools and external collateral, and train them to use these tools.

 

Annual Planning:

  • Develop and manage the communications plan within the annual marketing plan including

    • Marketing strategy document

    • Integrated content calendars

  • Develop and manage an annual marketing budget to support the goals and objectives of the annual marketing plan, as well as, reporting ROI of marketing programs

  • Manage outside agency resources

  • Manage all trademarks, copyrights and other proprietary marketing materials associated with assigned brands and their product lines

  • Participate in the strategic planning process, as needed, with the leadership team

  • Establish a professional network within the positive displacement pump industry and business to business marketing discipline for establishing benchmarks and best practices

  • Assist with other strategic projects and related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum of seven (5) plus years work experience in B2B communications, product marketing, and/or in an industrial market

  • Proficient in applications such as Microsoft Office,

  • Familiar with Marketo, Adobe Suite and Google Analytics

  • Ability to work in InDesign software

  • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack and Salesforce.

  • Comfortable using social media tools such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working

  • Demonstrated success in positioning and launching differentiate products that meet and exceed business objectives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, possibly including some copywriting skills.

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. The ability to influence and work collaboratively with sales, marketing and product management is especially important

  • Excellent teamwork skills

  • Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to recommend improvements

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time (domestic and international)

  • Good organizational and planning skills
