Position Title: Product Design Engineer - Senior                   Reports To: NPD Engineering Manager

Location: PSG Cincinnati                                                        FLSA Status: Exempt


Position Summary:  

PSG Cincinnati’s Senior Mechanical Engineer works directly with the Global New Product Development (NPD) Team based in Cincinnati, OH and is responsible for the development of assigned projects from conception  to commercialization. This role delivers high quality, innovative, and market leading designs of chemical dispensers. Additional responsibilities include:  

  • On time project delivery
  • Management of project budget
  • provision of cost effective designs
  • Design for manufacturability
  • Design to market specifications
  • Ability to coach and mento teammates


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to design for Injection Moulding manufacturing.
  •  Ability to simultaneously manage multiple mechanical and electromechanical projects with a focus including on time and on budget project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to design commercially successful products from concept to production including experience with: -
    • Design of static and dynamic-loaded injection-moulded components using a variety of materials and design for manufacturing (DFM) techniques
    • New designs based on product specifications
    • Using CAD to 3D model, analyse, and document the product designs
    • Creating test plans and executing tests in a lab environment to prove out concepts, test prototypes, and validate elements of a product design
    • Support of cross functional team members.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information both orally and in writing to all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct technical tasks to solve engineering problems using strong analytical and experimental skills.
  • Experience leading small technical teams with both internal and external partners, and the  ability to mentor peers and team members.


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar with degree.
  • Experience in a role responsible for mechanical engineering design.
  • Experience as project engineer or product engineer responsible for new product development of mechanical products.
  • Knowledge of plastic materials, fluid mechanics, and other mechanical engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with CAD, preferably SolidWorks, static and dynamic FEA, generation of drawings
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to effectively work within a cross functional team while providing technical mentorship to all project members.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbal and written
