Job Title:        Application Sales Engineer (Power Systems)

Location:        Conyers, GA

 

 

What we’re looking for:

 

The Application Engineer for Power Systems will serve as the in-house expert on power distribution relative to applications for the convenient store, restaurant and retail sales markets.  This position will review Customer requirements and recommend optimal product architectures that fit Customers’ needs while satisfying Company goals and objective.  Since the role is the technical go-to resource, it will also serve as technical product support for both external and internal parties, ensuring a positive Customer Experience and a fully knowledgeable Sales force.

 

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Work with Regional Sales Managers, Inside Sales and/or directly to the Customer to understand Customers’ needs and requirements
  • Determine best product design to meet Customer’s needs, creating any relevant drawings or technical documents
  • Serve as the in-house expert for Power Systems, including answering technical questions for internal and external parties (including contractors and inspectors)
  • Understand what drives value for the Customer and help develop architecture and / or quotations that emphasizes that value; demand shaping
  • Work with Product Management and Product Engineering on product rationalization and product portfolio definition
  • Ensure Customer satisfaction by establishing and adhering to service level agreements
  • Liaise between vendors, engineering contractors, Customers and internal parties to deliver best solution at the best value for the Customer
  • Help train Sales community on products and help design most efficient processes to achieve goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities for improvement – cost reduction, value creation, process efficiency, etc.

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 4+ years’ relevant work experience within a manufacturing environment

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • Lean / Six Sigma background
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Previous industry experience (electrical power distribution)
  • Previous market experience (restaurant and retail sales)
  • Experience in SolidWorks and / or SolidEdge
