Job Title:        Director of Compliance           

Location:        Conyers, GA (Metropolitan Atlanta Area)             

 

 

What we’re looking for:

 

This position is responsible for leading the Compliance program for DFR globally. The successful candidate will collaborate with finance, legal, business colleagues, and the Dover compliance team to develop, implement, and maintain the compliance program for the business, to include implementing written policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, leading effective training programs, conducting internal monitoring and auditing, and assisting or leading investigations, as appropriate, to respond promptly to detected offenses and undertake corrective actions.

 

We are seeking a Compliance Director with experience and knowledge of some of the key compliance areas such as anti-corruption, trade compliance, data security, conflicts of interest, and fraud and abuse laws; and preferably have experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Because there is complexity in the Dover business, driven by diversity of technologies and global locations, customers, and channels, it will be imperative that the successful candidate possess strong intellect, agility, and sound judgement.

 

In addition, the position will play a key risk management role at the company, serving as an internal resource/liaison for DFR employees on legal and compliance related matters. In addition, the employee is expected to support the overall Risk Management program for DFR globally and would be a key internal resource for the review of NDAs and customer and vendor contracts.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Works with management to ensure that the requirements of Dover’s corporate compliance program are tailored to the Operating Company and implemented in the way-of-working in a sustainable and value-add manner.
  • Assists with ensuring that DFR specific compliance policies, procedures and standards are developed, implemented, maintained and updated
  • Conducts regular risk assessments of the activities and operations presenting compliance related risks, the results of which will be used to, among other things, establish or appropriately modify the components of the compliance program
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the compliance program
  • Support a compliance culture within the company, including building relationships with leadership, raising awareness of compliance topics, and leading by example
  • Manages the trade compliance team
  • Manages the company’s third-party vetting process
  • Assists with developing, coordinating, and executing training programs that focus on the elements of the compliance program, and other policies, procedures, rules, regulations and laws governing the Company
  • Coordinates compliance training for third parties
  • Assists in the preparation of management reports regarding compliance operations and progress
  • Keeps abreast of pending industry changes, trends and best practices, assesses the potential impact of these changes on DFR processes, and works with stakeholders to prepare action plans to mitigate risk
  • Collaborates with management to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation, counseling, support and resolution
  • Supports monitoring activities to remain abreast of the status of compliance activities and to identify risks and trends
  • Assists with compliance related diligence regarding potential acquisition targets; and in the integration of newly acquired companies
  • Manages or assists with maintaining the gift registry
  • If requested, assists in investigations of potential noncompliance
  • Provides assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews
  • Conducts audits of key internal compliance processes to validate that processes are performing as expected
  • Assists DFR employees to identify and leverage the appropriate Dover and external resources for legal matters
  • Reviews and coordinates additional analysis of NDAs and contracts
  • Serves as a primary liaison between DFR and the Dover Law Department on legal matters; and builds risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the Company

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Legal Studies or General Business
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Audit, Legal, Compliance, and/or Accounting
  • Greater than 10+ years of total work experience

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • Certification such as CPA, CIA, CMA or CCEP would be preferred but not required

  • Experience with the handling of internal investigations
  • Commercial awareness
  • Working understanding of a control’s environment
