POSITION SUMMARY:              

The responsibilities of the Inventory Coordinator are to manage warehouse locations, inventory levels and control, receiving and movement transactions of inventory, and customer service. The individual will also assist in various warehouse-related projects. Coordinators control the flow of incoming materials and outgoing material to ensure customers receive products on time.  This position will be responsible for inventory accuracy and excess inventory identification as well as working in a team environment to improve processes throughout the warehouse.    

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all documentation related to inventory is complete, accurate and filed correctly.
  • Enter receiving and inventory data into system for tracking purposes.
  • Enter material movement transactions (receipts, transfers, cycle counts, adjustments) into ERP (AS400) system
  • Monitor inventory levels and locations to support manufacturing.
  • Verify receipts and confirm purchase contents and orders are complete.
  • Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with creation of policies and procedures for warehouse activities.
  • Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and inspection personnel.  
  • Develop inventory targets and order points.
  • Assist in planning or implementing material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
  • Manage and monitor order rates, inventory levels, and delivery plans.
  • Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, and training or safety records, also identify issues and recommending corrective action.  
  • Work with Quality to manage rejections and return with vendors.
  • Prepare monthly reports for cycle count and pick-lists count for monthly highlights.
  • Participate and assist in preparation of yearly physical inventory.
  • Assist in the development of requirements and specifications of materials needed for production and experimental work.
  • Operate in a continuous improvement mode focusing on quality, cost and delivery.
  • Lead or participate in process or system improvements.
  • Perform special projects and assignments as required to meet work unit goals.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of inventory processes and knowledge of MRP system within manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate forklift and maintain forklift certification.
  • This position must demonstrate strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, team development, and technical skills along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management within and outside the company.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school degree or equivalent; Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related field a plus.
  • Previous experience in inventory control or related field preferred.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
