Job Title:        Quality Supervisor

What we’re looking for:

 

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Quality Manager in day-to-day QA, QC, and QE activities.  He/she is responsible for participating in internal/external corrective activities, drafting, releasing and updating inspection procedures and mapping department process flows.  He/she is also required to fill in for the Quality Manager in his/her absence.

 

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Manage and direct quality team members including inspectors and technicians (10+)
  • Assist the Quality Manager and Supplier Quality Engineer/Manager in day-to-day QA/QC duties
  • Leads, creates, assigns and follows up with internal Corrective Action Requests (ICAR) and Customer Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)
  • Leads, creates, assigns and follows up with customer complaints and warranty issues
  • Leads, creates and maintains standard inspection procedures (in-process and final inspection) and process flows diagrams.
  • Assists in receiving inspection plans.
  • Leads, partakes and or assists with internal corrective action events
  • Manages and performs data collection, data processing, data analysis based on quality metrics and product key characteristics
  • Conduct process capability studies
  • Conduct internal process/product audits and assists with supplier audits when necessary
  • Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate activities and manage projects with minimum supervision.

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant quality and engineering field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Control (QC) capacity

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • Preferred experience in an assembly and engineered to order environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma qualified, Black or Green belt is an advantage.
  • Member of a recognized professional body such as the Chartered Quality Institute or American Society of Quality (ASQ) is an advantage.
  • Preferably a Certified Quality Auditor to ISO 9001 or similar – An AS9100 SQE could be an excellent candidate or the ability to gain certification within 6 months of hire.
  • HVAC or refrigeration industry experience.

 

To be a great fit for the role:

 

  • Proven background in Quality Assurance.
  • Thorough understanding of Quality Management methods and documentation e.g. APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, SPC, GR&R, 8D, DMAIC, PDCA.
  • Experience of operational management, manufacturing and ERP systems, including routings, BOM’s, Deviations, Concessions, Change requests, etc.
  • In depth knowledge of quality auditing and testing.
  • Technical engineering knowledge, including ability to understand engineering drawing and standards.
  • Proven experience of driving root cause and corrective/preventative action.
  • Ability to develop realistic work plans and set personal goals that align with company goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to represent the company professionally and interact with multiple Anthony Intl. sites.
  • As a minimum, must be able to use basic precision measuring equipment (i.e. Micrometers, tape measure, Calipers, etc.)
  • Proficient for most computer programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, Excel, Word, Visio
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (basics)
  • Process capability studies (Cpk/Ppk/UCL/LCL)
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
